Description

This cache is part of QOGM 2019's Turd Trail along the Neverfail Road. We trust you enjoy a caching experience with a little difference.

I read an article called Embarrassing English Errors Ep17 – Turd & Third, and thought - "could have a bit of fun with that!"
Hence the development of this series.  It is just meant for a bit of fun.
All caches are actual cow pats which have been dried naturally, and coated with varnish for preservation. Please treat with care so others can enjoy the fun.

Stealing third base is generally easier than stealing second. You can take a bigger lead at second than at first without drawing many throws. If your timing is good, you can also take off from second before the pitcher actually releases the ball. ... The potential to steal third depends on the batter at the plate.

So there you have it, geocachers.

Stealing a turd base, though, is a whole new batter at the plate, er, kettle of fish. so to speak.

Firstly, you have to survey the turd base farm (paddock) to ensure there are no harmful animals around - like drop bears.  Um, perhaps not out here due to the lack of trees and water.  But those boxing kangaroos and baby eating dingos are sure a hazard to the avid turd base hunter.

Secondly, you have to keep an eye out for Muggles.  While most Muggles will simply look at you (kind of like Meerkats at the zoo.  Did anyone say Alan?), there is a special 1muggle that will give you the turd degree if you enter his turd farm!

Turdly, and this is the difficult part, ensure that your turd base is solid enough to survive the kidnapping, er journey to the workshop.

So there you have it.  You can easily steal a turd base before the picture is released at the ball, er, dance, um, police station.

After a short search we spotted an edge of the cache container in the dirt pushed up by a grader. The lid is missing - was there a clue? The log sheet has becomed cemented into a solid block. We add a small replacement log in a ziploc bag and place the container at the base of a tree with a covering of wood.

Thanks for another Turd on this trail RoddyC. Off we go continuing along the trail in the hope of the final reward

Full time nomads since 2013. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.

Today we headed out to complete the Heartland and Mailbox series. 250km round trip out of Blackall. We saw several graders, water trucks and rollers out on the roads. Also lots of cattle, Emu's with chicks, Kangaroos.and a white faced Heron. Very HappyVery Happy

Queensland Outback Geomuster 2019 trip to Blackall. Day 4. Today was my first day of organised events I joined Baby&MrsGopher, Au.fait and Trekker Trev. The highlight of the day was the series of caches in the morning with a unique flavor. I hope they eventually get published in one form or another. The afternoon was spent around Tambo before the evening get together at the pub. Two evening caches were visited before a longish drive home.

Thanks.

Early October, we attended the QOGM events in Blackall. As part of the fun, we did this Turd Degree. It was great, and we could not believe that in earlier times these containers were natural Turd.

It's a perfect camouflage in that area, and we loved it.

Could imagine how much work went into these containers! Awesome!

Sorry for the generic log RoddyC, but not only saves me writing, if I could remember individual caches, but it saves you reading too.

Found while attending QOGM 2019. A brilliant series of caches whose descriptions and names were obviously written by someone with a sharp, (or should that be warped?) mind/sense of humour. Very clever play on words at each cache. Thanks for these great caches RoddyC and 1Muggle (creating these caches must have been such fun for you!!!

Attending the QOGM event 2019 we teamed up with Cache Hunters to complete the Turd Trail.

Aiming for a home run but seems we only made turd base.

Many thanks RoddyC,1muggle and QOGM2019 for publishing and creating this cache and adding to our geocaching experience. A memorable trail that we all enjoyed.

Does not matter who puts the first log in on this series. I hope all the Geocachers who found the original 16 are members or will join GCA to claim the golden smiley
for the series, especially the lucky people who were given the right to claim to find on individual hides. I was part of the placement team for the series and we had a laugh and a ball placing these.

Found on the muster trail during QOGM 2019. We didn't have any trouble locating the caches, entering the waypoints as we go. Enjoyed the containers and the whole series, thanks for the effort in setting it up and getting listed Clapping We are new to this platform but are getting used to the emojis Cool

Our group of 4 (3 teams) departed Blackall this morning in the chariot propelled by 4 pistons with one objective. That being to earn our Turd Degree Certificate.
This was our tenth encounter and there was nothing here to collec to help us find the TTT Mystery. So we stole a base.
Great Camo. Very well done and a big thanks to those involved in the design, manufacture and placement.

What a pleasure it is to finally log our finds on this series.
This was our first geomuster, and I must say that I was quite overwhelmed initially, as designated data person, to be entering coords as we were driving along, so I didn't have time to relax and enjoy the journey until all coords were entered.
We participated with our friends Little Squirell. I hope they log these finds on GCA, as they are not avid Geocaching Australia members.
There was lots of fun and frivolity as Mrs Squirell read the e cache descriptions, and many funny escapades and photos ensued.
Thankyou RoddyC and the rest of the QOGM 2019 team for such a fun afternoon.
