Description
The River Torrens Linear Park Trail runs from Henley Beach to Athelstone. This cache is located near ther eastern end of the trail.
The River Torrens Linear Park Trail stretches from Henley beach through the CBD to Athelstone, following the River Torrens. A distance of 33.5 kilometers. It was developed in the early 1980's
Along its length are many interprative signs explaining all manner of things involved with the park - historic landmarks, environment, habitat and fauna, recreation, transportation, stormwater management and flood mitigation.
Bridges are located at intervals along the path to enable access to both sides and allow for shorter loop walks along its length. Also dotted along its length are picnic sites, playgrounds, toilets, drinking fountains and carparks to promate and enhance public use of the park.
This end of the trail is also convenient for access to the Yurrebilla, Mawson & Hysen trails and is adjacent to the rugged Black Hill Conservation Park
The cache is a small plastic container with a blue lid containing only a logbook and pencils.
