Description

Art, Aussie style.

Utes in the Paddock is an outdoor gallery that has been relocated from Ootha. This unique bush tourist attraction uses the ultimate in Aussie icons, the Holden ute. If you like your art quirky and fun, this is it. And it's free!

The cache is not at the artworks but close by. You're looking for an eclipse tin. Please take care in summer, GZ may get hot!

Congratulations Gullivers Travels54 - FTF

We are heading south after attending QOGM 2023 in Longreach.

A quick stop and find here as we pass through with geovan in tow.

Fantastic display of utes, have also seen them when they were on display at their original site at Ootha.

Had the day off from fencing work today so decided to be a tourist and check out the art trail. There's some ... interesting sculptures along this road, a couple of really good ones, and one "amazing" one. Hahaha.

I've seen these Utes before but they were in a real paddock back then. Being on the edge of town with what looks like a huge visitors centre being erected here kind of removes that paddock vibe. Now they are just artworks on the edge of town, some sadly quite faded.

Cache was a little tricky to get but much harder to put back. A muggle pulled up 2m in front of GZ just as I'd finished logging duties. I had to drive a short distance away and wait for them to go. I moved just in case they were refusing to go till I went for some strange reason, maybe geocaching. Haha.

Thanks.

PS new guard rails are going up in Forbes where your cache was. If I'm still in the area when they finish work, I'll pop a new cache in there for you.

Ivam travelling through parts of Western NSW in search of caches that will give me a DZ or an LGA. I am happy to say that this is one of them and a quick easy find. TFTC

Out on a caching trip with Just a cacher before heading back to work and grabbed this one as we passed by.

A quiet spot here today and some nice utes nearby.

Thanks for the cache geono.

Quick find, using the clue, but we had to fight many, many spider webs to get hold of it. Black Bunny cringed at the desecration of the utes at the site. Smile
Thanks for the cache, Geono!

A long weekend brings with it a weekend of camping and caching. fitzy_1965 and I decided to do a loop from Goulburn out to Naranderra, Griffith, Condoblin and back home so I could pick up the last few counties out that way.

Today was heading from Condoblin to home via Parkes, Forbes and Young. Quick park and grab before checking out the utes.

With a free day, I decided on going for another outing. This time I decided on collecting the caches around Condobolin because there was a possible FTF up for grabs. Just over two hours of driving, I found myself at GZ of the first cache I was attempting. After a long search, I was almost going to give up but something caught my eye. IT WAS THE CACHE but was the FTF there too… YES, I’m the only one to have found it. Big Grin GZ is off but if you use your Geo-senses it’s not too difficult. Then I had a look around at the rest area and learnt a few things. After that excitement, I headed into Condo to continue my cache hunt. The next one on my list was the cache at the welcome sign. I loved the sign and as for the cache a quick find. I then headed out to Mount Tilga to find the cache out there. I parked the car at the bottom of the hill and walked up. Once up there, I decided on taking in the view and then try to find the cache. I found the cache and was on my way back to the car and I nearly tripped over. I regained my balance and took a look at what caused it and I found a Trigpoint Pin. I took a photo and a set of coordinates. (When I got home, I took a look into both active and archived trigpoints and discovered Mount Tilga (TP4879) which had the same coordinates. I have now reactivated that cache so others can find it too.) After getting down the mountain, I headed back into town for some lunch and to find the tigpoints around Condo. Then it was time to head home. Once I got home I logged my finds and got started finding GCA Locationless Caches to finish my day off. TB visit on all caches and all the required photos uploaded to my logs. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found for allowing them to bring me and others joy. Big Grin TFTC’s and TFTLC’s! Big Grin
