Description
Cosgrove Park Centenary Memorial Chapel
The Centenary Memorial Chapel is surrounded by a peaceful retirement village and some pleasant views of the city to the north and of the mountains and hills to the east. This chapel was built to mark the centenary of the Launceston General Hospital (1863-1963) and the foundation stone was laid by the health minister of the time W.D McNeil. Spending a lot of my time as a kid around this area due to my family being members of the Cosgrove Park Bowls Club nearby, I'd like to share this location with my fellow cachers and believe there should be a cache somewhere here!
There are some trespassing signs and camera's around the chapel but I assure you it is perfectly fine to find this cache. This building is not in use and although it is perfectly fine to look inside from the windows, I would highly recommend to not try and enter the chapel as it is considered trespassing. There is plenty of places to park and shouldn't be too much of a hassle to avoid muggles.
Thanks, I hope you guys enjoy this cache! It has started with a logbook and some pencils with a few trades inside.
Happy Caching

Logs
Logbook damp but able to sign OK. Thanks wethestrange
Anyway we flipped the log book to the other side and soon found some caching names that looked familiar.
We were a bit dismayed by the state of this church, with broken windows, some of which are boarded over. Gardens covered in weeds and the woodwork is way overdue for a coat of paint.
Such a pity but thanks for the hide.
A pity to see the church in disrepair.
Many tftc wethestrange...cheers ST.
A trip, today, which took in Launceston, Burnie and other NW Coast places saw me drive 815 km for a total of 15 caches including two FTFs
Collecting these caches, I walked a total of 6.46 km using 8084 steps while burning 1675 calories
This cache was my first for the day and was a very quick find
It was Sainted at 0754 hours
As I walked back to the car, I noticed some broken windows which made me wonder if the Church is still used?
TFTC and cheers

The church looks abandoned, and the area where the cache is stinks. Must be the local toilet for people
Tftc. Most have been a lovely church in its day
Mrs Y'sTassie was keen to look for this as her great aunt Bess had been one of the original cottage residents when Cosgrove Park first opened. She lived there for over 25 years and Mrs Y'stassie and her sisters spent their May holidays with her and accompanied her to church services in this little chapel. The last time she was there was for her aunts funeral quite some years ago.
We parked on the street and followed our GPS into the grounds. It wanted us to cross the garden bed and head for one of the security signs. We decided to look for a way to access the side of the building without crossing the garden. We found a little path that led us straight to the object referred to in the hint and a quick look followed by a feel around had an interesting container in hand. Container and contents were in good condition and the log was blank. A {FTF} for us at 15:10
After signing the log and replacing the container we checked our GPS which indicated we were 8m from the published coordinates. We took a series of readings which averaged out to S41 27.686 E147 08.923.
Thanks for the cache Wethestrange and for the trip down memory lane. Its a pity the little chapel is nolonger in use. The hide is secluded from sight and there are no security notices or cameras in this little spot.
