Description
Find, photograph, and list coordinates of an Emergency Assembly Point near you
With the present spate of bushfires and floods in Australia at the moment, it is not only important to have your personal emergency evacuation in place, but to know where an Emergency Assembly area near you is.
Preferably know where several are, in different directions, in case you are cut off from one of them.
Most businesses have a specified area for their staff and customers to evacuate to in case of emergency but it is important to know where you can convene in your town or city as a citizen, especially after hours, at night and weekends.
I hope you never need to use this information, or have to use your evacuation plan, but it is good to be prepared.

Pretty high chance of a bushfire round here.
Good spot to swim too!

This is at the furtherest end of the car park by the bins.
Thanks for another locationless CybergranV
A quick drive up into this locations driveway, a quick snap, a quick snap with GPS and I was on my way. No emergency here today.
The sign says it all.
This Emergency Assembly point is near a church and community hall in Ravenswood.
We're lucky to have a few of these in Huonville
This one is behind the Post Office and Huonville Town Hall
Others exist in or near the Main Street

There are probably plenty more around but until I noticed this cache a few days ago I wasn't consciously acknowledging them.

Thanks for encouraging us to keep an eye out for these as we meandered around the Wheatbelt
The Neighbourhood Safer Places aren't signposted on them, you need to know them through the RFS website. I guess it could also work during an earthquake. This one is the local oval at Waitara, about 3 minutes walk from home.
I know when I was a Scout Leader our scout hall was the emergency evacuation centre if required, but if you search as I did on the internet for emergency evacuation centres, it gives a list of halls that may be used in the area, but there wasn’t one in the city area here. Now I have to get in touch with the Council and find out why.
Let’s see who will be the quickest to respond to this cache.
