Description
The Empire Calls - Avenue of Honour Circuit
Here you can read the small, very short history of some of the fallen soldiers from this area, honoured by the magnificent elm trees behind you. A small geocache (200ml) waits for you at this location.
Meander along the Lerderderg River, swing left at the pumping station, and walk alongside the market gardens to meet the renowned Bacchus Marsh Avenue of Honour. Enjoy the beautiful elm trees on your return to the picnic ground. The total length of this circuit is 2.9km and there is adequate on-site parking for your stroll. All up your walk should take around 2 hours finding the many geocaches as you walk.

All the plaques made for interesting reading as I continued to walk around the area...although it was back to car after this one to move down to what I could now see was the car park. Cache was soon in hand and the log signed. Good to see a few others out enjoying the area as well.

Today we're making our way from Ballarat to Geelong, caching and adventure labbing as we go. We've been wanting to have a go at this circuit ever since it was published and today's the day, finally. We found ten of the twelve with coordinates spot on and useful hints. We'll have to come back some time in the future to try the other two again. TFTC
Went out to find this one thinking that I had missed it on my last visit. Guess what? My name was in the log book. So I guess I forgot to log it.
As per last time I really enjoyed finding these traditional uncomplicated caches.
