Description

Sgt Harry Campbell - Avenue of Honour Circuit

Notes from Sgt Harry Campbell, 8th Battalion AIF, elinisted, promoted and died all within one year in service of our country and freedom. A regular geocache (1 litre) waits for you at this location.

Meander along the Lerderderg River, swing left at the pumping station, and walk alongside the market gardens to meet the renowned Bacchus Marsh Avenue of Honour. Enjoy the beautiful elm trees on your return to the picnic ground. The total length of this circuit is 2.9km and there is adequate on-site parking for your stroll. All up your walk should take around 2 hours finding the many geocaches as you walk.

Have driven past this series numerous times over the years, however it was always at the start, or the end, of a long day's drive. Having recently moved to Ballarat, I decided to head down to the Marsh today to finally give it a go. Parked close to this one and took the walk back to GZ where the cache was quickly spied and the log signed. From there it was off to the next.

Thanks [email protected] neat little series and a great walk around the area. Recommending them all for others to have a go.

Today we're making our way from Ballarat to Geelong, caching and adventure labbing as we go. We've been wanting to have a go at this circuit ever since it was published and today's the day, finally. We found ten of the twelve with coordinates spot on and useful hints. We'll have to come back some time in the future to try the other two again. TFTC

It was an absolute pleasure to find the caches around Moon reserve.
The containers were clean, full of swag for swaps and the co ordinates accurate. It was so enjoyable walking and finding them. It felt like the good old days of caching -when I first joined.
I will definitely do more GCA caches in the future.
Impresed with this simple but effective hide.
Thanks caughtatwork for re-introducing me to 'proper' caching.

Mrs Y'stassie decided on an early morning walk to look for the caches that were not found yesterday. She decided to start very early in an attempt to avoid a rush of muggles.

It was quite cool when she set off and there was little traffic, few cars and no walking muggles. She sussed out the hide while reading the information and realised she had read this before while looking for a trail of GC caches some time ago.

Thanks for this cache caughtatwork. The container and contents were in good condition. Just love in your face hides.

Out and about finding our weekly research task requirements and this newly published series had several that met our needs. We set off on the circuit finding this one and a blank log book @ 13.30 hrs [*FTF*] #10 after collecting the info for the nearby GC multi.

Accurate co ordinates and hint led to a quick find. Enjoyed the walk and exploring an area not visitd before.

Many thanks caughtatwork for publishing this cache and adding to our geocaching experience.
