Description
Everytime I visit King Island, I visit this amazing part of the island.
It's ruggedness and beauty together as one.
There is something about the northern tip of King Island that makes it magical.
Cache is a straight forward find.
Surrounding the lighthouse are the remains of a number of associated buildings, including a small church and water tanks. There are also a number of gravestones, many belonging to those who were shipwrecked in the area after the lighthouse was built.
Further down past the lighthouse there is a picnic area. Be sure to pack a basket full of King Island produce and enjoy this beautiful area.

Logs
We thoroughly enjoyed the drive out to Cape Wickham. The scenery here is breath taking. We safely negotiated our way passed a flock of free range turkeys before stopping to look for this cache. We didn't need our GPS to locate the container which we found carefully tucked away. Unlike its mate at Porkys Beach the elements had not attacked the container and it was in very good condition. A blank log sheet provided a second {FTF} at 10:40.
Thanks for this cache Trimbletas. After replacing the cache we drove to the golf club around the cove - beautiful views and an interesting contrast between the beautifully manicured greens and the shaggy vegetation on the surrounding dunes. There was a steady, stiff breeze which would have made playing on the course interesting. There were, however, no patrons on the course today - very quiet.
