Description
Trowutta Arch is a geological feature south of Smithton, Tasmania, Australia. It is a natural arch eroded out of limestone. A walking track leads to the arch and an adjacent flooded sinkhole.
Parks & Wildlife upgraded the walking track here in 2017. The work was evident, with a solid gravel surface. It was level most of the way to the arch, with a single short descent of about 20 steps. While almost any walker could reach the arch and look through it, fully exploring the area around the arch and sinkhole required climbing down and then up the sloping limestone surface.
we placed this cache at the start of the trail to encourage people to come check out the upgraded trail and admire this great place.
cache is a small sistema with a notepad, a pen and a stash note inside.

3 days off from work, and Geo Kid O joined me on a journey to Stanley and then down along the western explorer road towards Corinna. We have a great time finding a number of caches and driving a road I had not travelled on before.
The Western Explorer road was closed for a while and recently had been reopened with a new bridge near Balfour. Some very interesting sights along the way, with part of the road feeling more like a forest track, and other parts felt like a place where no one else has gone in the past, other than on the road. The open button grass plains were amazing along with the mountain views.
We stayed in Stanely, and the caches in and around Stanely were very good, including one walk to the top of the Nut. Gee that is a steep 400 metre walk.
Thank you for the cache which was part of our journey
Initially I thought the GPS was playing up but headed over to find the well concealed cache.
Cache is in good nick.
By the time I left there were around 5 vehicles and on the way out passed another 3 heading in...busier than Flinders ST Station.
Have walked into the Arch a couple of times...a cool spot.
Many tftc...cheers ST.
Thanks for this cache DEZ055 and for bringing us back to an area we love to visit. unfortunately we did not have time to walk to the arch today. Our 2020 walk will have to wait for another day.
Thanks for the cache.
