Description

A brilliant tribute to our wonderful emergency services.

Today I was driving along the Huon Highway and had to stop and have a good look at the newly painted reservoir.

I found this on the Taswater Facebook page.

"Our Glen Hall reservoir in Kingston is looking better than ever after being part of our biggest paint session to date.

Approximately 500 square meters has been painted over four days as a tribute to our emergency services."

Do Not park on the side of the hwy.

Park in Willowbend Road near Foley Road (S42° 57.998' E147° 17.966') then walk down the walkway and then walk along the top of the embankment.

To log this cache add a photo of yourself or GPSr in a photo of the reservoir.

G'day AlbyDangles, thankyou for listing this, so I could have a closer and un-hurried look.
The is a great tribute and monument to recognise and thank all those, especially the volunteers, for what they selfishly do for the rest of the community.
I nearly raced out when it was first listed, but didn't.
Today I was on my way home from Pickett Hill, and remembered this one, so I checked the listing to see about parking, and then followed the instructions.
I took a few pics, and had a look from various angles.
As I was walking back to the car, I did wonder how many had logged it, and was most surprised to find only 1 previous finder, and not even a local!
Thanks for bringing me here.
Cheers, EPs

We were in Hobart today to catch up with our daughter and her partner, both of whom returned within the last week from extended stints working in Antarctica. As we were in the area, we visited this cache (after parking at the suggested location and walking nearly 500m to GZ).This is a really great mural with a very appropriate subject. No doubt the tribute to all emergency works reminds us of their contributions, particularly in times of stress. A number of photos have been added to the Gallery. Thanks Alby dangles for posting this site as a Virtual cache. There being no other logs, we will claim FTF at 13:30 today/
