Description

Queenslander!

Cockroaches should prepare themselves for a confronting greeting when they venture north, with the official unveiling on Wednesday of a new welcome sign on the New England Highway as you cross from Jennings NSW to Wallangarra Queensland.

State of Origin rugby league player Billy Moore is responsible for the "Queenslander" rally cry, and he was back on home turf to officially unveil the new Queenslander sign, along with Southern Down Regional Council mayor Tracy Dobie.

Ms Dobie said the $142,000 signage, funded under a Works for Queensland grant, came out of community consultations with Wallangarra residents.

"This is one of the things they wanted," she said.

Wallangarra claims Mr Moore as a local celebrity. He attended the local primary school and then Stanthorpe State High School, but played footy in Tenterfield.

You're looking for a small lock and lock style container, with logbook and pencil.

Cache not found whilst on a slow trip from Home to see my sons and granddaughter on NSW Central Coast.
After a fairly long search and after digging through a lot of pebbles, I have to admit defeat.
The garden beds are well cared for, so I can only assume that the container has once again been muggled.
Another day...........

We are back in the area to do some bushwalking with the grandkids during the school holidays. Today we visited the border and found this cache… much to the delight of all.

Thanks MattyRx for placing and maintaining this cache. A worthy spot and it sure added more fun to our visit today.

Checked up on this one today - it was indeed missing! Luckily my co-pilot No_Tomorrow had a spare container and donated it to the cause. Cache is now back in play.

I actually found the cache on this trip out here. I may have had a little help finding it though. Wink

unfortunately not found. had a good look but to no avail.

A quick find at GZ as I meander south from Toowoomba. Thanks for the good hint, the cache and for encouraging me to stop here. I think I was sitting on the fence at one stage.

#GA5162 - 13:15; Day ten of a road trip with Sol de lune for the CacheQLD - Dayboro Mega. After a big day of caching around Dayboro yesterday, wrapping up with the trivia event in the evening, we set off early this morning for home. The mission for the day was to cache our way south collecting GCA and GC caches along the way, as far west as Warialda before finishing the day at Glen Innes. After adding a couple of ICEM caches to the tally, we were approaching the border when we stopped in the obvious place to grab this cache as we passed! TFTC MattyRx Very HappyClan Cerberus

Well....you can't miss that. Don't seeing that a few years ago so I'm guessing it's new. Does look rather striking. This was another quick find with LuckyL10n while heading home from the Mega. All up we grabbed 3 Geocaching Australia caches in town....not bad for a town this size.

Thanks for the cache......and pointing out what is right in your face. ShockedShocked Recommended.

We saw this cache when it was published and were sure it'd be a cinch to find even without the GPS. But we didn't get the chance, along came covid and the border had turned into the Great Wall of Queensland. But Australia is one and free again and we were back on maroon soil, albeit feeling like we were about to get nabbed for not having a pass. Found the cache nicely hidden but just where we expected. A great spot for a cache and a travel break with good off road parking for big vehicles. TFTC MattyRx.

Every Scooby-Doo episode would literally be two minutes long if the gang went to the mask store first and asked a few questions.
