After an event in Latrobe in NW Tasmania today Mrs 2y'stassies and Mrs Beetle headed off to walk 5kms for the GCA cache Walking With Robtas GA18754.
Only about 100 mmetres from the start we noticed this quite large butterfly on the grass. Don't think it was too healthy but the required photo to log this cache was taken anyway.

Spotted this guy while on a walk a little while ago. Happily sitting here feeding on whatever it is they eat.
Thanks for another one YOF...

There are many butterflies in our garden during summer but far fewer in autumn and winter. A couple of days ago we saw something interesting in the garden. Initially we thought it was a white moth but on closer inspection, the circles on the wings clearly indicated that it was a white butterfly (white moths do not have circles on their wings). Two photos have been added to the Gallery: the white butterfly; and a caterpillar in the plant which will emerge in time as a white butterfly. Thanks youngoldfella for the cache.
While out walking I came across this butterfly it was really hard to photogragh.

We weren't sure whether this little one was alive as it just sat there while we took it's picture

I must say that I had to use my friend Google to make sure of the difference between a Moth and a butterfly.
I was happy to read and check my image just to make sure,

Cabbage White Butterfly
Blue Mountains NSW
After watching the Cabbage White Butterflies flitting around over the past week, this one finally settled on the grass and in the garden. TFTC

Checking my veggies garden I planted a couple of weeks ago. They grow beautiful... notice a butterfly was wandering around happily and stop on my young gum tree leave .
Thanks

I was out and about trekking this morning.
While along the local path there was an explosion in butterflies.
I took a close up of this common species.
