Description
Millstream
This cache was born from the Annual Training Exercise (Pilex2009) for the Pilbara Region of the WA State Emergency Service. It was attended by units from Karratha, Port Hedland and Wickham.
Part of the exercise was a Mapping & Navigation course covering vehicle, topographical and GPS navigation. As a momento of the entire exercise it was deciced to place a cache (or as Danny called it a "geosync") at the one point that seemed to stump a few teams. "Waypoint Charlie"
The cache container is a camp milo tin, with the names of those attending written on the outside. Besides the regulatory items this cache contains items that members contributed which they believe epitomises the weekend (that in itself is a worry). Prior to the wet season this cache will be changed out to a plastic container with a photo of the original container placed inside the cache. So, if you wish to see the original, you have until approx Nov this year.
It was then decided that a cache will be placed at each exercise location in the future.
Logs
Alas me caching 'app' on the phone, refuses to display GCA cache notes,
so I headed off across country to GZ to see if I might find a traditional cache or not !!
Pretty obvious something is out here !!
I could see it from 30 metres away
Yep !! It's a cache with a logbook to sign
TFTC and stroll to Waypoint Charlie
All in good shape
Possibly because it has never been opened in seven years !!
I did enjoy sifting through the contents
