Description
Welcome to the 1st GCA cache by "Keeper of Time".
This cache will provide you with the chance to turn off the back road and drive down a narrow dirt track. Access should be quite easy in a 2wd car but may have some large puddles after rain. As you approach GZ look for the gate across the track and park in front and to the right, what you will see in front and to the left is Lancefield Resevoir No 1 which is in the Deep Creek catchment area and supplies drinking water to Lancefield and surrounding areas.
Water storage in the local area is at an all time low and the area is on stage 3a restrictions, at the time of placing this cache local storage levels are as follows.

With just 5.9% storage left it make me wonder what happens when the damn dams run dry?
In true C@W style the cache is an ammo can with a 2 litre sistemma in it and is hidden in a typical geocaching manner.
Please ensure that the cache is well hidden before you leave and I would ask that you help maintain the standard of the cache by placing quality swaps only. As always, be mindful of the local wildlife both good and bad.
Logs
We are currently touring Victoria with our geovan in tow, using geocaching as a guide. We have visited many amazing locations through geocaching and your cache was one we visited along the way.
Many thanks Keeper of Time for publishing this cache for our enjoyment and adding to our geocaching experience today. Cache and contents were in excellent condition.
Tassie Trekkers are now a locationless geocache we have published a 'Geocacher cache' - Travelling Trekkers GA10932 - so if you spot us in your area sign our log book and receive a code word to earn yourself a We were one of the lucky teams to receive a pathtag from Geocaching Australia for publishing a "Geocacher Cache" - thanks Geocaching Australia.
Currently heading south and home to the Apple Isle next month.

********************This lengthy log is because we are currently working towards a trophy for "I write treatises for a living" - Average 150 or more words per valid dragonZone geocache find log or did not find log excluding geocaches that you own. Slowly getting there********************
The road name clued me in fortunately. Track is in good condition and the shady approach was welcome on a hot morning. Easily found after I startled a hare, well covered and still chock full of goodies. TNLN.
Thanks KoT.
We started down the road, in the drizzle, but when we reached the first little bridge, which had quite a bit of water before, we chickened out in our 2WD as we didn't want to be late for our dinner appointment by getting stuck.
Will attempt the next time we're in the area, hopefully the road has dried out a bit more by then.
Thanks anyways Keeper of Time.
Cheers & TFTC.
We had just spent a very enjoyable day at a nearby winery for a work mates wedding. Loved the area, my queen commented on how green the area looked but at the cache site I did not see the water - I could only afford a little look but no water.....
Loved the cache and the ammo can - I dont get to see that many in my neck of the woods
Thanks Keeper of Time - loved the area.
Found by Roma and Max.
Having a day off from those commitments that have tied us to Bendigo for months now and with a couple of new hides fairly close by we were pleased to have the opportunity to search for another GA cache!
It was also pleasing to find another of our favourite containers well hidden in a typical manner.
We signed the log and made no exchange.
Thank you Keeper of Time for placing this cache.
From Romax.
It was a very misty morning in this part of the world and I was grateful that feathertop was using his car and not mine as he negotiated Monument Road and then the track into this cache.
Nicely stocked and easily found
Thanks
In fact featherdown had no idea we were searching for a cache until I handed here the GPS and said go find it. By now we were under 20m away.
Not much water in the reservoir but a bit on the track but my 2WD negotiated things okay.
Thanks Keep of Time for such a generously stocked cache way our here. Much appreciated.

What else can we say that hasn’t already been said, a magnificent and well stocked cache in the bush at an interesting location with the rather sad looking water storage nearby.
Talking of water storage, why doesn’t this blinkered government build a new dam on the Mitchell. The damn thing has flooded twice in the past couple of years and apart for damaging crops and flooding low lying houses it just flowed out to sea but I better get down off my soap box.
Back to caching and I saw this new cache pop up a few weeks ago and so it was a priority for our little outing in this area today.
Took pedometer
Left a bag of marbles
Our thanks to Keith and Jill for the cache and bringing out to their lovely little bit of bush.
Cheers from Ian & Sandra
Team Ladava
We parked some 500m from the cache because we didn't like the look of the muddy puddles having had a boggy experience on a backroad in the past. We had a nice walk into GZ to clear the head and get a bit of exercize.
We enjoyed the hide and it is nice not having to use any stealth when retrieving the cache.
Thank you for bringing us here.

Wheeeeee! A GCA cache. Hmmmm. It's 6:30pm. Do I? Don't I? It's 50km as the crow flies from home and a little over an hour drive according to the driving directions on the cache page. Should I? Shouldn't I? Do I give the FTF opportunity to someone else?
Nope
Into the car jumps GabGab and I for an hour drive to find a cache armed with co-ords, GPS and a torch. The drive was a little faster than the driving directions but it was still a long time and as we approached the turn off we missed it in the dark and had to do a bit of circling around before finally coming across it. Next time we take a map printout.
In the pitch black we fired up the torch and with only about 20m to walk we headed towards GZ looking out or possibilities. As we swung the torch around there was a magnificent possibility which we checked and ... bingo. A very happy little girl and just as happy dad.
We pulled the cache (and what an excellent choice of cache, ammo can and 2 litre sistema) out and were rewarded with the FTF prize and a black log book. How much better than this does it get? Not much. GabGab was very pleased with the prize and hasn't stopped talking about the cow clock until bedtime just a few minutes ago.
Thanks Keeper of Time for this cache. I was going to leave it until next weekend, but as I've got 6 GCA caches to hide next weekend, this was the best opportunity to try and grab it and I'm glad we did.
This will be betting an overall rating of 5 from us. A great drive in the country, a great cache and FTF. Nothing beats that.
