"A Fortunate Life" by A B Facey.

Another novel I read for English while studying the HSC. I really enjoyed it this one too. Maybe one day I might read it again.
A Fortunate Life is an autobiography by Albert Facey published in 1981, nine months before his death. It chronicles his early life in Western Australia, his experiences as a private during the Gallipoli campaign of World War I and his return to civilian life after the war.

Clive Cussler is an author with many books, and while I love the style of book, this one didnt grab me like some others

Atlantis Found By Clive Cussler

At the end of last year I had to get rid of a whole lot of things which included a whole lot of books. The few that remain are significant to me. I listen to a lot of audio books now.

Australia Twice Traversed - Journals of explorer Ernest Giles.
This book I actually read online some years ago. I enjoyed it so much I bought the book. I have started mapping out public access places and routes following these explorations, and hope to travel them one day soon. When I first read it I imagined turning it into a feature film, altered for entertainment and including some imaginative interpretation, with Heath Ledger as Ernest Giles. That will give you an idea of just how many years ago I first read it. I was recently inspired by The True Story of The Kelly Gang, so I might just get around to rewriting these journals for fun very soon.

After browsing our bookcase our photo is of a Readers Digest copy of Australia's Dangerous Creatures. Luckily we haven't seen too many of these while caching, we've seen a few snakes and a couple of red back spiders but we've managed to stay out of their range! Thanks 2y'stassies for an interesting locationless cache

Australian First Aid by the St John Ambulance Australia. Picked this up during a course I did at some stage to keep my skills up to date. Never used it, and hope I never have to.

I enjoy Australian historical novels ... they are a really good way to learn about elements of our country's past in an entertaining way. One author whose books I have read quite a few of is Peter Yeldham. His first historical novel was "A Bitter Harvest" in which he weaves fictional characters into actual events that took place in Australia and around the world in the early part of the 20th century.

I've started playing with potential designs for a path tag while sitting at home over the past few weeks, and am adding an early draft of it to my photo of the book.

Australian Birds by Vincent and Carol Serventy

Of course mine is a bird book!

One of my friends in my early years at high school was Cathy, the daughter of the authors of this book, and I spent some time at their place.

Vincent was a well known in the nature conservation world. His brother also wrote many bird books. This book is just one of a whole shelf of my Australian Bird Books. TFTC

GCA 2,990. Another fun locationless to fill in the time.

My book is 'A Falcon Flies' by Wilber Smith. I have read all of Wilbur Smith's books - a lot of them several times. I am currently going through the Egyptian series again. I also included my well travelled HRC Bear and TB Roman to help identify me.

Thanks 2y'stassies !

Against All Enemies by Richard A Clarke. Not a book of fiction. Clarke was the counter-terrorism czar during the Bill Clinton & George W Bush administrations. My tag adorns. Thanks.

In our isolation we have managed to read more books than normal...luckily we had a few to catch up on when this all started. We usually donate or swap the books when we have finished with them but we have several in a box now waiting for this to all come to an end to be sure it is safe to pass them on.
Mr Sylken sorted through the box and found this one he had recently finished.....it is ‘Actric Drift’ by Clive and Dirk Cussler.
Many thanks for another great idea for a locationless 2y’stassies ClappingDancing

So many books to choose from, but this one jumped out immediately because it is where the DDTs are supposed to visit in May! Our third team member is pictured with the book, along with his pathtag which was to travel with us . . . Don’t have one of these pathtags? Well, nobody except us does, as they arrived just in time to go into isolation. . . By the way, we think this would make a great ‘alphabet series’ and that you should reconsider!!! Thanks.

Thanks for the locationless cache 2y'stassies. Taking a morning tea break and saw this one pop up. I'm working from home at the moment and my desk is located next to one of my bookcases so I didn't need to look far - 'American Gods' by Neil Gaiman. My constant geocaching companion, the GeoGSP (aka Rafa) was sitting nearby and helped out with the photo.
