Description
The 105th cache by caughtatwork is in the Brisbane Ranges
Little more than an hour's drive from Melbourne takes you to the state's richest wildflower habitat. Set in a low range of mountains dissected by rocky gullies, the unusual geology of Brisbane Ranges National Park has preserved plants that have long since vanished from the region, together with a correspondingly diverse bird population and the greatest density of koalas in Victoria.
Parking is very close to this cache as you are able pull off onto a nice gravel area some 150m from GZ. You can then follow the track almost directly to GZ only leaving the track when your GPS says about 30m to go. The ground along the way is level but rocky so be careful where you place your feet.
When you get to GZ you might want to admire the Basalt Plains that cover almost the entire Western Suburbs. Formed by the ejecta from volcanic activity some 5 or so million years ago, the local volcanos are only deemed dormant not extinc, but I doubt any will erupt again in our lifetimes.
This cache forms part of my Campaign Against The Small.
There are a plethora of small and micro caches appearing around the traps and I believe it's always nice to find a larger sized cache. The cache you seek is a 2 liter sistema container which has been enclosed in an ammo can for long term protection. The cache is not hard to find but if you get stuck the hint is a giveaway.
I hope your enjoy your visit to the Brisbane Ranges and I also hope you enjoy the view from the cache location.

Logs
Cache and contents were in good order.
Thanks CAUGHTATWORK
Find recorded using GCDroid
All the contents were in great condition which shows what a great style of hide this is as it has been almost 18 months since the last finder. A couple of trades were made as the kids always love to do.
We had come to the area to do some of the trail of nearby caches that is aimed specifically at kids yet when we got home I asked them which was their favourite for the day and the unanimous decision was this one. Quality will always win I guess.
I dragged my younger child away from her screens and gadgets, and handed her a gadget with a screen to spend a day having "Fun for Kids". Despite her efforts, she actually had fun. In fact, by the time we found this cache, she wanted to continue along the beautiful rocky track and admire the view for a while longer. So I call that a win.
As for the cache... you should have seen the eyes light up as I popped the lid on this beauty. And that was in the midst of a series aimed at children. Took nothing, left same, as someone possesses plenty of the generous contents already.
Thanks, C@W, for the view, the cache, and the pause for reflection in the mad midst of a power trail.

We are currently touring Victoria with our geovan in tow, using geocaching as a guide. We have visited many amazing locations through geocaching and your cache [CATS] - Basalt Plains was one we visited along the way. A quick walk to GZ to uncover this well hidden cache. Accurate co ordinates appreciated.

We were delighted to find the large container and its contents in pristine condition after being last found in October 2012 - a testament to the theory that if you want your cache to last then you need a well hidden, robust container.
Thanks for the cache caughtatwork and for a wonderful caching experience. We hope more cachers will take the time to look for this cache.
TNLNSL. Thanks once again caughtatwork.
A nice little walk across to GZ.
I'm sure the views are great during the day.
I was here under torch light!!

Continuing on our tour of the Brisbane Ranges. The flora at this spot was not as prominent as at "Highway to Nowhere", the spectacular view was a treat though.
This type of hide certainly keeps everything in the generously stocked cache in mint condition.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt caughtatwork.
Cheers Gordo
I must have missed the parking area, because I just followed the arrow on my GPSr and got a bit of a surprise when I came to the rather nicely laid out track (which I've since seen described in the cache notes). I must say, I wasn't expecting the views at GZ and got a big surprise when the whole panorama opened out before me - it's the best way to appreciate something like this - let it be quite unexpected. At GZ, there were a few possibilities but, thankfully, these CATS caches limit the amount of fumbling round when you get to GZ.

Thanks again caughtatwork
Well, well well, a 2nd to find and what a magnificent view all the way to the city.
With of mission of babysitting this weekend and with their specific request to go treasure hunting, a trifecta of caughtatwork’s CATS hides seemed the prefect solution for boisterous, noisy and excided kids.
We love bush caching and your invariably well stocked were very well received.
Took stuff and left stuff in a bit of a frenzy
Our thanks to c@w for another masterpiece.
We saw this cache launched a while back but we did not think that it would still be unfound, the Brissy Ranges are one of our favorite areas to cache in so we really looked forward to a return visit. Found the parking area quite easily and we then set off down the track towards GZ, great views across and along the valley. We soon got close to the cache and started to search the likely areas, my GPSr lead us to a different area at first but soon pointed towards a spot where the cache was found.
We love this size of cache and it was chock full some quality swaps, the blank first page was a real bonus.
Took Nothing
Left Car + Stickers
Many thanks C@W for another great GCA cache
