Description

A hopefully sneakily-hidden microcache within line-of-sight of the University of Newcastle Physics Department...

...where they have desktop masers and deathrays just waiting to be accidentally aimed into the surrounding neighbourhood by clumsy undergraduates. I know, because I was one of them. The area used to be apart of a much larger Birmingham Lookout Reserve, until the side of the hill facing the University disappeared in the late 1980s... hmm.

Note: You cannot reach the cache from the University (where you'll be made to pay for parking). This was [email protected], but I've moved it off the site due to harassment from a manic score-hunter JABs insisting I provide caches for him.

Exploring Newcastle today, we focused on GCA caches and your cache was one we found.
Great hide, cache in good condition.
Many thanks CJB for placing this cache and adding to our geocaching experience today.

Just confirmed that it is still there!

Doing a round of caches in Newcastle and saw at least as many GCA caches (mainly trigs) in this area as GC caches, came for both and conquert most.

I failed with this one. It might well still be there but when I got to GZ and I saw the piles of wood around the likly GZ tree my heart sank, I looked quickly if it was hanging or still somehow visible but the agressive mozzies gave me the rest and within a few minites I gave up on this hide and felt back to the car and the Bushman I had there for the rest of the caches around here.

Wow!! 291 weeks since a find on this one!!
Our GPS wanted us to access it from the highway but with no parking there and a very steep climb up the hill to GZ we decided to make our own way there.
Found an easy access point from a road running parallel to the highway and were soon at GZ. Getting the last few metres to GZ was a bit tricky as someone has dumped a pile of tree branches there.
Absolutely stunned to find a nicely hidden cache which was still in excellent condition. Although the pen didn't work. Surprise surprise!
The resident spider was also not impressed when we relocated him but he'll probably find his way home again.
After a fruitless search on a lot of GCA traditionals in Newcastle it was good to finally find one.
Thanks.

Nice place for a cache well worth grabbing TFTC SL

Being physics students, my boyfriend wanted to show me the site of an old cache that he thought had been muggled. Turns out it was still there, just not listed on gc.com! Thanks!

Not a fan of micros hidden in bush so didn't put the time in. I did enjoy looking over the motor-way in the afternoon.

found in a lame place

Easy Find. Cache log signed as TLC's (Tablelands Cachers)to save space.

I think I made the most difficult climb possible to get to this cache, only to find a really easy way in after I had found it. The way back was much more pleasant!
But it is still a clever hide. TNLNSL TFTC
