Description

Like the book caches, photographs of records are required to have some form of identification on the record cover and it would be good if there is some background around the record cover indicating that you have taken the photo of the LP, not lifted it off the internet.  Apologies but no one has to do this series of caches if they don't like the requirements.  Thanks.

Today I am looking for an album whose title begins with "M".  To log this cache please include the name of the album in your log and ensure your identification is clearly visible on the photo.

In line with amendments made to requirements for listing and finding a Locationess geocache, this geocache has been reviewed and found not be in line with the listing requirements.
Locationless Cache Wiki Information
Armchair style Locationless caches where the finder is not required to explore the real world, identify a location and accompany the 'Find' with photographic evidence are no longer accepted.
A Locationless cache listing must require the finder to locate an object or perform a task in the real world, collect the co-ordinates and log the find with accompanying photographic evidence.
The geocaching community would like to thank you for listing this Locationess geocache and congratulations to all that found this locationless geocache.
As the geocache no longer meets the requirements we will archive the cache listing.

"Misplaced Childhood" by Marillion. This album is pure poetry. A good friend in high school got me on to the Scorpions and also Marillion, and I bought a heap of records for both bands.

From the song Kayleigh from this album: "Do you remember I thought it was confetti in our hair"

For 30 years I have been wondering if this refers to dandruff or something else. A truly wonderful album. TFTLC! Very HappyDancingClan Cerberus

THE CUT & PASTEY BIT: I’m not sure how long some of these locationless GCA caches will be around for, but there’s only a finite number now that Covid is hopefully mostly past. In any case I was enthused today to check out my old records, and I hope you like the photos! I know I will enjoy checking out the galleries after to see what other people have added. Cheers all! Smile

I'll wager no one else uses this album or have ever heard of it. There isn't even Wikipedia page dedicated to it. I actually purchased this at a comic book specialty shop.

Timothy Truman is a comic book artist / writer who is also a musician. He release this album during the run of comic, Scout, and it even included a short comic depicting the wedding of the main character.

If you're a Grateful Dead fan, you might be familiar with some of his work. Per Wikipedia, "Truman has also had a long relationship with the band the Grateful Dead creating artwork for CD covers, tour posters, limited-edition T-shirts and a color comics page in each issue of the Grateful Dead Almanac."

I initially had this one aside for e until I realised the album was not called Elvis but Moody Blues.
The one song that stands out on this album is his version of Unchained Melody. Probably the best I've heard, and plenty of people have covered this song.
It's not until doing this series that I realised what a varied record collection we have, from Slim Dusty to Iron Maiden and everything in between.
Thanks. Dancing

For today's effort I offer "Mask" by Vangelis, from when I was going through my ambient electronic stage of music a few decades ago. This one is from 1985. Though apparently he is also known for the soundtracks to Chariots of Fire and Blade Runner among others. Thanks Smittengranny.

Midnight Oil is the debut album by Australian hard rock band Midnight Oil which was recorded in 1977 and released in November 1978 on the band's independent Powderworks label. It reached the top 50 on the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart. The album was later distributed by CBS Records and issued as a CD. The LP has a blue cover, however, the CD has a black cover. Because of the blue cover, the former version is often referred to, by fans, as the "blue album" or "the Blue Meanie". The lead single, "Run by Night", became the band's first minor hit in Australia and appeared on the Kent Music Report Singles Chart Top 100.[3] It also had a video clip.
