Description
Some of my favorite things are the many mushrooms, Fungus and Spors that I stumple across as I am out exploring the wild. Whether out in the bushland, or in my own backyard I am always astounded by the different colours, patterns, shapes and sizes.
To log this cache you need to take a photo of a Mushroom, Fungus or Spore and either geolocate it, have a piece of your or GPS in the pic, or tell me a bit of the story of where you found it.
You are welcome to log this cache as many times as you would like, as long as each picture is a unique plant, or perspective.

Having a look at Locs when saw this & recalled a couple of toadstools I'd photographed in our front yard during Covid. I encourage leaf litter & it produced this nice pair. The leaf to the left is an oakleaf hydrangea, which in keeping with the theme, is deciduous. Thanks.

There are lots of mushrooms popping up all over the place at the moment. This one was spotted locally while walking with my neighbour.
They never last long, so I was glad I had my phone with me to take this photo. TFTC

This photo sample is from Rocky Creek below the dam. Coords attached. After the below story, I started looking for fungi everywhere.
Our old neighbours are fungi hunters. They also have a workshop where they take timelapses of fungi, which have been used in all the well known nature docos. Just after moving into our new house, my brother had a film sound job to do on a fungi film by them, Following the Rain I think it was called. I had fun listening to bits over and over again, like "here's something you don't see every day - wombat poo..." that wasn't the end of the sentence but where my bro kept stopping to fix the sound. I watched him gather things for "not foley - sound design" and then got to hear the result with the footage. There was even a zombie hunter in there, a bit I found fascinating. The actual music sound was done by a couple of award winning composer-musicians who stopped by at our house to discuss the sound also. Such an interesting process to witness. I got to watch the film through a couple of times. I could watch it again too.

So, I spent 4 days solo hiking in Main Range National Park in SE QLDs worst storms in decades with last night being the worst night. Being over 1km in elevation and inside the storm clouds was deafening, awesome, somewhat terrifying, unforgettable. When morning broke there was an eerie silence throughout the rainforest. I packed up my gear, made coffee, prepared my food intake for the day and began the final day of hiking. Before leaving camp I removed two leeches. One was inside a camp shoe! The forest looked very different today, sooo much debris and chaos in the silence. I then spotted some tiny fragile red fungi just sitting there untouched by the madness of the past few days.
Several hours later I saw my first human in three days........
Thanks for the cache
Cheers

Currently on day 2 of a 4 day solo hike through Main Range National park. The weather has been hideous. Looks like it’ll be storming for my entire hike. But, I’ve managed to find some things for some locationless caches Shortly after discovering part of an old timber jinker I saw a fine fungus specimen.
Thanks for the cache.

A wet sprint, a wetter summer (so far) and humid weather is causing all sorts of weird little faerie huts to appear in my garden. This one came up recently and so when I saw it again this morning I just knew I had to capture it for this cache. I have no idea what it is but I do assume it came from some form of mushroom compost, but it doesn't exactly look like something I would try and eat, so I might leave this one to the garden to bloom and consume again.

Today a friend and I spent over two hours walking the dogs in the Alma Reserve. Passed lots of fungi and snapped quite a few photos.
The first photos were taken at the evolving art work, which is down at the lake at S41 17.114 E146 14.814.
The rest are at various spots along the way.
If you ever walk here and come across the art work feel free to change it.
It started when Mr Beetle put a large piece of wood between two metal poles and we placed a few interesting bits of wood and rocks on it.
For nearly three years every time we went round there something was different. I think several people contribute to it and it was only about a year ago that we finally met someone there who was busy changing it at the time.
The suspense has gone out of it but we still change it every time we go around.
When there a couple of days ago I noticed that someone had added a piece of wood with a fungi on it so took the phone today to get a photo for this cache.
But grabbed some other fungus photos in the area as well.
Thanks.

Sitting back after Covid restrictions lifted by doing Puzzles and locationless caches.
This is another nice one to do as well.
We were walking to the final wp of a multi in Albury just yesterday, a secret location obviously, and I spotted this not so fine specimen on the ground near the track.
Thanks for the brain exercise and the cache,
Roostaman.

Another day and forever grateful that we live in a country that has managed the virus situation much better than some other countries. Thanks again for the cache and while in my backyard I noticed these guys growing out of a rotting stump of an apple tree.

I have just copied the photo from a similar locationless GA4412. This one was growing in our back yard in Nanango (GPSr included) after we had had a lot of rain. I have other photos in GA4412 with GPSr included but they were at other towns or places. TFTL

We are very fortunate to have numerous fungi and mushrooms growing out here. Some are brown, others cream or white, but my favourites are the fairy red and yellow ones that grow under just one of our English oak trees. I used the photo earlier to create a jigsaw, so if you want to know its name do the jigsaw. Thanks for publishing this cache for us to enjoy Nibletricecakes.
