Description
Have you ever wandered threw a parkland or forests and found yourself marvelling at the beauty of the trees that surround you? Have you come across one so large, so worn that you know ever bump and branch could tell a thousand stories??
In order to log this cache you need to take a photo of an old and magnificent tree and geolocate it, or, add a photo of the tree and to tell me the story of where in your travellers you came across it.
You may log this cache as often as you find trees worthy to be included.

This tree is called "The Grandis" and is reportedly the tallest tree in NSW (76.2m) and believed to be over 400 years old.
It is a flooded gum (Eucalyptus grandis). We regularly trave from Gosford to Wauchope and had seen the tree marked on maps so decided to look at it one day when we didn't have the van with us.

The Boab Prison Tree, Derby is a 1,500 year old, large hollow Adansonia gregorii (Boab) tree 6 kilometres south of Derby, Western Australia with a girth of 14.7 metres. It had been reputed to have been used in the 1890s as a lockup for indigenous Australian prisoners on their way to Derby for sentencing, but there is no evidence that it was ever used to house prisoners. This boab tree is certainly an ancient tree with a unique beauty. Two photos have been added to the Gallery: history of the Prison Tree; and a photo of the magnificent tree which we took when we passed through Derby. Thanks nibletricecakes for the cache.

Yesterday we found a cache at an old tree. The cache was GC3WZ9B and is named after the tree....’Old Majestic’.
It looks like it’s had a pretty tough life over the years.
Many thanks for the locationless Nibletricecakes

Hobbiton Movie Set...Matamata NZ, approx 100klms south of Auckland.
Stopped off here while on a cruise a couple of years ago we were this tree while on tour around the set. Big, on top of the hill, and looks magnificent. One of the may highlights of the set. There is a secret to it, but I can't say as you need to see it for yourself.
Thanks for another one Nibletricecakes….photos attached.

We camped near this tree overnight on 6th September 2016. It is at Mt Britton and was planted on the birth of John and Mary Mills first child, Albert Mt Britton Mills on 30th September 1883. Berti, as he was known, was the first white child to be born in the area. A fabulous old tree indeed that has been well looked after. Thanks for the cache Nibletricecakes.

These magnificent trees are beautiful glowing in the morning sunlight.
It’s kind of like the ‘Tree of Life’ we found it out near Koorda.
These are coords not too far as the tree is on the farm, it’s private property, hopefully close is okay .
Thanks for the Locationless Cache.

This is Australia's largest cork tree & is found in Tenterfield.
Tenterfield's giant cork tree is aged 159 years, still growing in Wood Street, was brought from England by Edward Parker in a jam tin in 1861. It is listed on the National Register of Big Trees 'Australia's Champion Trees'.
The Register gives the following dimensions: A circumference of 5.14 metres (202 inches), a height of 16 metres (52 feet) & a crown of 32 metres (104 feet).
It is located beside the footpath in Wood Street so you can park quite near it but it is recommended that you don't park under it as branches have a habit of falling off.

This Ficus macrophylla is absolutely amazing.
The tree is estimated to be about 100 years old.
It is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register.
The listing was on the 4th December 2012.
The tree is situated in Kelly Park, Werribee Victoria.
It is around 24m tall.
These are more commonly known as Moreton Bay Fig's.
It's canopy stretches partially across the nearby road.
As you drive round you go under its lush leafy cover.
One of my favourite trees.

Lovely tree found at Welch Pioneer Park on the Oxenford - Tamborine Rd, at Wongawallan.
This old beauty is a Marri/Red Gum. It’s on our Walpole property and has a huge girth making it several hundred years old. The bark is rough and jagged on one side and it leans on an angle. It’s one of my favourites.
