Description
In my home town the local water tower is now becoming a great piece of visual art.
No longer in use but built over a century ago the dullish concrete structure is now an historical mural.
This cache is to highlight a painted Water Tower.
We have a locationless for Silo Art - Painted Silos GA10378.
Simply take your own original photo and give us the address.
Only one log per each water tower please.
Happy Photo taking.

Anson St, Bourke, NSW
Artist John Murray
In 1962 Gundabooka man Percy Hobson was the first Indigenous athlete to win a medal at the Commonwealth games. At only 20 years old and against all odds this local high jumper broke the record when he leapt over a 6’11 high bar, in Perth’s Perry Lakes stadium. A feat forever establishing Percy as one of Australia’s most iconic sportsmen.
To pay tribute, his hometown of Bourke, NSW is celebrating Percy Hobson’s achievement by dedicating the Bourke Water Tower as a canvas for a large mural of Percy; a recreation of the iconic photo of Hobson bounding into the air; the moment he earned his first gold medal.

Hi themd
Occasionally as you walk through the bush in Tassie, you come across these small painted water towers
Sometimes they service the nearby facilities but there are others, you wonder what their purpose is
This one is at Five Mile Beach in Southern Tasmania
TFTC and Cheers

Location: Crn Agnes and Arnold Streets, George Town, Tasmania.
The George Town Water Tower was painted in 1985. The water tank was directed by Wayne Hutchins from New South Wales and Diana North from Launceston. They were assisted by Darren Viney and Michelle Johns of George Town. A special mention went to Cathy, Kevin, Jenny and Heath for helping complete the project.

In Melbourne over the weekend and drove past Tower Road Werribee where I lived for many years while base in the area and noticed the water tower had been painted. Snapped a photo while sitting at the lights (no, I wasn't driving) and can now add it to this cache.

Augathella Qld.
Needs a code word apparently and I can now find one.
This image taken from another image gallery where I used it for a GC find. The Water tower is in Augathella Qld and is in Forest Street Augathella. I lived in Charleville for many years and have been to and continuing to drive through Augathella
on a regular basis. I have added the story about this water from the Internet.
This bright and colourful water tower represents the town of Augathella which has a colourful & unique history full of bullock teams and notorious bushrangers who camped along the Warrego River.
Augathella lies on the Matilda Highway and is 85 kilometres north of the town of Charleville. The township itself was settled as a junction of three tracks, from Charleville in the south, Burenda Station, and from Tampo in the West.
It was at this junction bullock teams camped on the Warrego River long before settlement. In 1880 the town/junction was surveyed and called Ellangowa and in 1883 the township was officially gazetted as Augathella.
Working bullock teams provided the muscle needed in our pioneering days. While Australia rode 'on a sheep's back', the wool that brought the region's prosperity rode the dusty miles from outback stations to the port on lumbering bullock wagons.
Today Bullock Teams are almost a thing of the past, but around the Murweh shire when people talk of the 'good old days' it is the colourful bullocky and his mighty, patient bullocks who are often brought to mind.... one of these popular old Bullocky characters was Frank Welch..... Do you know a Bullocky?????
It was essential for the Augathella community to capture the 'bullock team & wagon' in their epic #TrailblazingtheWest Mural.
Depicted on the tower which was painted by Blender Studios is a bullock team, a boundary rider, windmill and old man emu. TFTL
