Description
This gadget cache is located at the listed coordinates - at the top of a small lookout, Rathdowney, Queensland. Here you'll see something of interest attached to the fence, but how to get the logbook? Some quick manipulation will soon fix the problem, but get ready for launch - and dont take an eye out. If the mechanism does get stuck, give it a bit of a twiggle and it will soon free itself.

Woohoo!
I finally got here! Sadly there wasn't enough room or momentum in this rocket to get me to the moon.
Great views from here.
It's almost sunset with the mountains as a backdrop, but I'm not alone, my stomach is grumbling, there's new management at the hotel... but the muggle that turned up is still here so we can't finish making sure the patch is back in place securely. And she's gone.
Thanks for the fun cache.

I'm slowly working my way through my GCA goals. One of them is to find at least one of every possible cache type. I added this Gadget Cache to my to-visit list a long time ago and today I was driving through Rathdowney with some spare time, so, let's check it out! I first visited the new CORS installation at the beginning of the lookout driveway for a quick photo and yawn haha then drove up to the parking area. A beautiful clear day today. The first thing I noticed was the plaque regarding Captain Patrick Logan. It commemorated the 150th anniversary of him climbing Mount Barney in August 1828. I've been up there with modern gear and a clear track to the base and it was tough.. this guy started his hike from Ipswich!! Also at the lookout is an orientation plate. You can see Mount Barney from here. Now, where is this cache? Today I decided to identify as a male so of course my man-look failed to see the cache that was right in front of me. I eventually found it. mmmmm what to do? I wasn't sure at first. I don't want to give anything away but patience prevailed. A well crafted cache! It's still in good condition. Thanks for the effort and time for creating this one, I appreciate it, cheers.
5 thumbs-up for the lookout and smiles

Wow! Still not sure exactly how this works.. well the mechanics of it.
It looks simple but obviously science is at work.
As Samboo stated, we are not sure we actually activated it correctly, although we were able to perform an action, which did not appear to damage the cache, but did appear to enable to container containing the logbook to appear. So I guess we got there in the end.
Thanks for another brilliant cache.

Well Mr RX, aren't you a clever clogs.
We weren't sure where we were going to this morning when we got to Beaudesert but when I saw that one of you caches was here and it was a gadget cache, the itinerary was filled.
After going all the way up the hill (awesome spot for a launch) I saw it straight away. Now how to make it work?
I tried counting backwards - 5....4....3....2...1 - but that didn't work. Maybe it needed some other way to get blast off.
I saw that you said wiggle it. I tried that but it didn't work. I was very careful not to break it.
Then I thought about the physics, and that it might need something to push it up and with careful hit, pouf up it came. Don't worry about it taking out your eye, worry more about the capsule ending up behind the fence. Lucky Pete was there to catch it.
That was pretty impressive!
Thank you for impressing me (oh and I grabbed all those moveables in town).

We had noticed this cache published while we were in Bundy , we thought that it would be found long before this considering that there are many new players due to the current restrictions. After arriving home we returned to normal life and this morning was our first chance to travel here ,we located the cache easily and after some contemplation released the log sheet for us to sign ,thank ypu Maytty RX for the cache and the FTF

I used to wonder if Elton John liked lettuce, then realised he’s more of a rocket man.
