Description

A temporary virtual, soon to be a bonfire! - 5pm Sunday 26th July according to the Longley International Hotel FB page.

Opposite the Longley International Hotel, you'll find the following (or see my pic in the Gallery):

It is destined to be a bonfire; just not sure when, but there is a countdown 'meter' over by the Hotel which today said it was between "Not Yet" and "Almost" UPDATE: - 5pm Sunday 26th July according to the Longley International Hotel FB page.

To claim a find, post a picture of a team member or your GPSr in front of the 'virus'.

Was originally going to make this an ephemeral cache, but the structure might last a while.  However, this listing will be disabled once the bonfire has occurred.

Good luck.

A bit of fun, that culminated in the effigy 'torched' this evening, and it burnt away, watched by a crowd of onlookers - who were treated to a fireworks display at the end.
As it no longer exists, this listing is being archived.
Thanks Smile

Loved this cache. Headed down to Longley just to see the "virus". If you plan to be there for the torching you probably need to be in place now 3.00 pm! So many cars, officials in vests setting up parking etc. The virus is now fenced off. Even extra toilets so you know then it is going to a big gathering. TFTV

We came south for a family occasion but we took the opportunity to head to Lower Longley to take the required photo before the virus is burnt tomorrow night. The attached photo shows Mrs y'stassie standing next to the virus. Thanks EeePees for a different style of cache.

"Hello EeePees thank you for the cache.

I have seen this effigy of the corona virus on social media but hadn't worried about going and have a look but as you have made it into a virtual cache I thought I had better go and have a look.

Thanks for the virtual EeePees. It may be here for a little while yet. We drove past this the other week but didn't think to stop and take a photo. In the area again (sort of) today so decided to stop and pose.

Hi EeePees
Had a caching day planned but it was cancelled because of the weather
So drove to Longley to get this cache before its ultimate fate occurred
Arrived and had a good giggle as I think the whole concept is precious
Sainted the cache at 1042 hours - thanks for the *FTF*
Pics taken, was on my way around the Channel and it was still pouring down - nice drive anyway
Then a phone call came through and the caching day was back on
Returned to the International where I watched my off-sider log this cache too
TFTC and cheers
