Description

Along the Snug to Margate shared path (STMSP); one of a series that KingSmev and I are creating.

This one is a little off the path; near one end of the Dave Burrows walk - a nice track that follows the foreshore back to Margate near the wharf.

The Snug to Margate shared path provides a safe and natural corridor for bikes, prams, walkers and joggers to enjoy between. It was an idea driven by the community following consultation in 2012, to create a safe and easy connection between the two towns.

Walking and cycling are healthy and economical ways to get around, and this path will be beneficial for visiting family and friends, shopping or playing in either town, hopping onto nearby tracks, or for relaxation. The path provides many opportunities to explore rural and coastal areas along the way. The three-metre width of most of the path has been designed to ensure there is ample room for enjoyment and multiple users.

Do NOT park on the highway. There is parking at both the Margate and Snug ends; as well as a few other opportunities along the way to pull well off safely.  This is a very busy and not so wide highway, so please take care.  As it turns out, there is plenty of parking here on the deviation road (the old highway).

You're looking for a hanging silver bison - watch out for muggles; they come from all directions, joggers, walkers and cyclists; as well as vehicular traffic here!

Oh, and you'll need your own writing stick.

Happy hunting and enjoy the path, however you choose to travel it.

Quick find on the luckiest cache in the area. There has been a lot of clearing, and somehow this one survived.

Had to stroll off down the path to wait for a Muggle to pass but otherwise not too much difficulty. TFTC

After visiting a few WPs for the GC multi we stepped off the pathway to look for this cache. As Mrs Y'stassie did her usual circuit of the object at the centre of the search she spotted a likely container. Sure enough the cache was in hand. All was in good condition.

Thanks for another in your STMSP series EeePees. This is certainly a special piece of bushland. Like you we were not sure which species this might belong to.

These quiet pieces of the old highway are quite pleasant.
A little bit of circling to find the right angle, but by now I'm trusting your coords.
Thanks

It was a lovely winter's day and we thought we would head down this way to find a few newly published caches that have appeared since our last visit and this was one of them. This was an off shoot of the nicely maintained track and it looks like they are working on this end of the Dave Burrows walk. TFTC
