Description
time to rescue a fire hydrant that needs some help
I can hope for nothing more that this cach never gets logged.
the idea of this cache is simple. in most residentual street there are fire hydrant built into the ground so fire truck have access to water wherever there is a fire.
they "should" be easy to find. just look for the blue reflector near the middle of the road then the white pole to the side where the hydrant should be.
these hydrant are crucial to making sure fire fighters can do thier job. but sometimes they get over grown or covered up.
to log this cache you need to come across a hydrant in need of rescue. and then you need to rescue it. this is a hydrant that is covered up, overgrown, or otherwise unable to be easily and quickly located by firefighters.
post 2 photos. the before in its to be rescued state and the after you cleaned it state. include some form of identifying marker in both photos to prove its not a photo off the internet. a gps, yourself, a finder, paper with your name etc
Please do not cover up a hydrant for the purposes of logging a find. its not in the spirit of the cache. like i said i would be pretty pleased if this cache never gets logged because noone can find a hydrant in need of rescue. below is example of what needs to be done
NOTE: check with local laws about fire hydrants. most will say you cant interfere with the hydrant itself or the pole, ie painting. but mowing cutting overgrown grass is generally allowed which was the intention of this cache.

Logs
Cruising around our neighbourhood, we spotted this hydrant that needed rescuing.
Before and after pictures added to the gallery
Logging for the Cacheopoly Game.
This hydrant is right outside our place in Huonville on the nature strip
As can be seen in the first photograph, it had completely disappeared except for the yellow FP Post
After a little work and then mowing the grass, it now appears as it is in the second photograph
TFTC and cheers

after finding the cache and returning to the car, I knelt down and trimmed the grass and gave it a clean.
