I finally made it here today!

I love coming up here. This place is a bit of a happy place to me. I wasn't sure if I would be walking today or not due to the forecast, but driving up to Charlotte's Pass I found myself up above the clouds that had been trying to swallow the road and view. Walking down to the Snowy River I had to go back into said clouds, but only for a moment. And in that moment, with the sun only risen a short way, I found myself walking into a fog rainbow. I enjoyed walking through many wildflowers to get to the chimney. Back in the days when the Main Range walk was called the Lakes Walk I used to come up here and do the full loop a couple of times a year. I used to walk it in 4 hours easily. My goodness, my body has changed A LOT!!! Today was a bit hard on my body as I climbed all the way up to Carruthers. Just over 16km in just over 7 hours I think it was. haha. Walking back through near here, I had to pause to admire the storm pouring out on the hills in the distance and the sound of the thunder rumbling through the valley. Sensational!

The cache was found in good order. Clean and dry. Thanks Smile

thanks for this great experience.
came here today for this cache and found it full of water. we have left the original log page in a seperate bag within the container and added a new log sheet.
also moved the container to a higher ledge within the same cave.
great to find a cache that hasn't been visited for 8 years.

Wow....8 years unloved. Wazza9, Nana Nel and I were out for a walk. I'd long known about this cache but always been here in winter. I had my doubts this would still be here but today we walked to the chimney. Very interesting history. We approached GZ and we started looking. Moments later wazza9 shouts out . Got it. This is such a special find. However the cache was full of water and everything was saturated. We thoroughly dried out the container and removed the sodden mess. We did our best to salvage the original FTF log bit Added a new log and bag. The cache was also place one level up in its hidey hole and should no longer float in water pooling from snow melt.
What an unreal cache. Top location.

We walked up the this area last March and wondered about the chimney then. Glad we found that a GA cache was hidden nearby
8 years of lost unloved days.

A simple find in some lovely country. Got ambushed by a thunderstorm on the way to the next cache. Bugger. TNLNSL
