Description

An easy find in a lovely spot.

Highland locale? ...Check

Lovers separated by death? ... not exactly, but there were a couple arguing in a boat nearby

Windswept Moors? ... Well there were some weathered fishermen, but I didn't see any North African Muslims.

Any way, here is a nice easy find on the Northern edge of Bronte Lagoon, hence the Heathcliff and Jane reference (sigh, I know)

A regular sized container containing some small swaps. Cast a line or camp over night. I did both successfully :)

A fairly quick find and people have used this area in the past as a toilet by the looks of things; however, there's a toilet block nearby now so it's probably not as bad as when previous visitors found this cache. TFTC
Cheers,

Many spiky little bushes and the fallen branch across them did not help. After looking for a few minutes I escaped the rain back to the car. A DNF!

Found it 01/05/2016

Cheesy Pigs thank you for the cache.

It took a little time to find as this spot has now become the local toilet Sad Disapprove

We decided on a family drive in perfect weather. Leaving around 0930, we went up through the midlands and turned off at Oatlands (we chose this road rather than the one at Tunbridge because the egg had not driven this road before) to head through to Interlaken, then onto Great Lake and Miena, continuing on the Marlborough Road to Bronte Park and then home via Tarraleah followed by a well earned pub meal at Ouse. We arrived home at 2215 after a wonderful day.
Once we found a way in, we spotted the cache quickly. Reaching it was a bit more difficult but a but of skilled maneuvering from the egg ensured success. A quick sign then off over the dam to explore a bit more. It was 1800 but still sunny and warm. TFTC

So just had to stop here for this cache too! Laughing

Decided to take a drive to do the Belly Button trig and came in to do this cache while we were so close. Found the cache without any trouble. Ate lunch near the pontoon while we watched the rain getting closer - very damp today.

04-Nov-12
This was a beautiful area and the evening weather was very pleasant. The quick find was thanks to Dippy, as I started under a different prickle bush and was working my way in the wrong direction.

After completing our magnificent walk up Mt King William I, we stopped by here so that wilco and I could find the cache. The afternoon sun was glorious but the bushes were prickly. Luckily we found it straight away and didn't have to prolong the prickling! I couldn't believe how calm and warm it was. Thanks cheesy pigs.

A quick find on a calm day. Boy these bushes are prickly. TFTC.

Spent several minutes searching for this one amongst the rubbish and old campfires.
Lots of spiky bushes to check under but no luck for us today I'm afraid. Another one of Tassies beautiful lakes. Many thanks for bringing us to the area. Cool

Spiky shrubs and shorts are not a good combination but there was a cache to be found and there it was. Looks a great camping spot. TNLN Thanks

Found on our 450klm Highland Loop round trip. What a great area to explore we enjoyed every moment of it. This cache was one of ten we found on the day.

No one about today had the area to ourselves, made a quick find TFTC

Had a clear field but wasn't an easy find! Something to do with the number of spiky bushes in the area Sad . Never mind, we had fun and are grateful to this cache for enticing us off the main road. Can't believe we're the first since April. I note the nearby GC cache on the highway was visited on the same day we were here and yet they didn't take the short drive to visit this enjoyable cache. Go figure Think TNLN. TFTC

PS Cache had a lot of water in container. Drained it out and dried it as best we could. Log was still OK but container's obviously not sealing.

Last day of fishing season today. Several campers on top of it, unable to retrieve. Got the fly rod out for a few casts but nothing doing.

15-Apr-11
Either the wind has been blowing a gale or an emu parade has been conducted. No sign of any rubbish today - to that end, no campers and just one boater arriving as we left. A quick find late in the day. TFTC

10-Apr-11
Plenty of spikey shrubs about. Plenty of toilet paper too.

07-Mar-11
Thanks for bringing us to the location. It was an interesting find as a lady hurried back into her caravan when we arrived only dressed in some underpants (I think we were back on). We spied her on our leaving watching us walk away, although a fair way from the GZ

Why a person is out in the trees in that state of undress in the cold morning has me concerned, although people turning up and then leaving five minutes later probably has her concerned??????

Easy find, and a great spot. pity about the campers using this place as a toilet. Lots of rubbish left by campers as well, pity as these places will be locked away and unable to be accessed.

30-Jan-11
Lovely spot to camp at, had to negotiate several left over decomposing land mines left by campers that were to lazy to dig a hole.
Took torch, left an Aboriginal with the Southern Cross over his left shoulder Vasco and his Duck

16-Jan-11
Swung by this loveley spot after a early lunch, only to find people next to GZ enjoying the lovely weather, so I'll have to come back another time!

09-Jan-11
Found easily with no prickles...cache all ok. Idyllic camp spot with no one around. Many thanks CP's...Cheers.

02-Jan-11
Shame on you A few prickly bushes but an easy find with muggles camped very close by. The water level was a bit low. We were visited by a little muggle doggy while trying to work our way back through the prickly bush. TFTC

28-Dec-10
Here we go with the prickles and spider webs again....Cache located eventually. One thing about caching...takes you to some good camping spots, will have to keep this one in the memory banks. Thanks for the cache

28-Dec-10
Arrived and read the description, jumped out at what looks like an old boat ramp near GZ.
Found after lots of prickles and a few bush spider webs in the face. Nice place to camp by the looks - surprised there wasn't anyone already setup....
TNLN, thanks Cheesy!

21-Oct-10
Found it at 11.45 am. took handwarmer left earplugs. Thanks

05-Mar-10
A find was made a little difficult due to all the campers nearby but eventually was acomplished. TFTC.

We dropped in here en route to the west coast. Located the cache fairly quickly and T torch L frog bracelet. We hadn't actually driven into teh lagoon before, so thanks for placing the cache and bringing us here!

21-Jan-10
Got this one at 1814hrs just ahead of red tag. What a night it turned out to be. Fishing with no luck, good company and many drinks. Thanks to Cheesy for the cache and the FTF (sorry red tag) red tag and Anne and me mates at Bronte for a great night. TFTC and Cheers OldSaint.

21-Jan-10
I was beaten to FTF by just over an hour by OldSaint.
The hint is not useful but luckily the coords were good as I wanted to get out of the prickles as quickly as possible as they made me terribly itchy.
I phoned OldSaint to give him an earful but instead of abusing him over the phone I ended up joining him at the Bronte Lodge for a drink. We then went fly fishing and returned to the lodge for a great night at the bar with the locals that continued on to the early hours of the next day.
Thanks for the 'winner medal' OldSaint and thanks for the cache Cheesy Pigs
The pictures of the area at sunset show the great time we had
