Description

September 2020, the Covid year. Today is the first day of spring 2020.

This year has been a year of COVID 19.  We are not out of the woods yet and according to the experts we will have to live with a new normal.

To celebrate this day I have published a very easy locationless for you.

To make a claim all you have to do is post a photo of flowering plants and they must be in your own yard or can be on your footpath or over the fence.  Please say in your log where the photo was taken. i.e. back yard, footpath neighbours yard.   Apologies to those who do not have a yard.  It can be a windw box or an inside flowering plant. The photo must be taken on your property. I am looking for something you have propogated, grown.  I will stretch to the neighbours yard if you do not any any flowering plants.

CO Ordinates not required.  I do not want Public Gardens or Botanical Gardens or Council Owned gardens. The Flowers must be in bloom.  No artificial Blooms.

Photo must be attached to your log.

CODE WORD IS SPRING

Time to go so I can meet the changes that are about to be implemented as most do not meet the guidelines in wiki. Clan Minotaur

Now that we live in an apartment, our garden is no more. When we moved in five years ago we potted up a few Cordylines of various colours and these have grown over the years. We also have a few small potted plants that don't grow much, so are excellent for inside. None of these 'bloom' as such so I hope they are ok for this cache. We do have a few hedges within our complex's gardens, however these are not bloomers either....

Thanks for another one YOF...

These Iris are not very old but they have started to flower and make great flowers for inside. The plum tree is just starting to flower as well. My backyard is just too large as the block is just a tad under 1200 sq m so lots of weeding to keep it tidy.
This image somehow came through after my deleting problems started so I can at least log this guy.
Thanks for your kind offer earlier but I will keep trying. ClappingClappingWhistleClan Phoenix

Thanks to the YoungOldFella for this opportunity to share a picture of some of the flowers on one of the branches on our apricot tree. This tree has been growing in our back yard for 5 years and the apricots are quite delicious in mid summer. We have also added a picture of some of our daffodils, they have done well this year too.

I went out in my garden and was surprised at how many flowers I had in the garden. I love spring bulbs but have trouble with wildlife also liking my bulbs. TFTC and getting me out in the garden on the first day of Spring

These daffodils are part of the current display between our house and our driveway. We plant daffodils for winter and sunflowers for summer.
Currently they are giving us an extra smile in this difficult time.

Thank you YOF

These are bulbs that live in our front yard. They survive year after year and we rarely see them flower as we are always in the warm areas.

At the moment wattle dominates our garden. I live in an estate on a golf course. We are allowed only native plantings.

This is the first time in 10 years that we have been home for the first day of spring.
It is freezing cold here in Tassie today.
My photo is of one of the many garden beds in our front yard.
First time we have seen the daffodils in flower for a long time. Usually our daughter sends us a photo of them.
Also in this flower bed are some grasses and some violets and something else which I planted recently but don't know the name of.
The vegie garden is my thing, the flower beds just get filled up with anything I can get my hands on just to try and choke out the oxalis and twitch.
I read recently an article on how to get rid of oxalis - MOVE!!!
Thanks.

Out in the front yard. Pity it is so dry because the pond is usually full and the little red Clapping flowers are a little stunted now.

Yep certainly has sprung.

These are in a pot out the front of my pad.

Have lasted thru winter I'm surprised.

They are starting to come back to life too.

Our grapefruit tree is flowering at the moment (and also loaded with fruit). We grew this tree from a seed about 30 years ago and it still bears prolifically. We love the gentle scent of the blossoms in Spring.

Thanks youngoldfella.

This particular zygocactus was grown by me from a single leaf and is currently blooming in our garden near the spa so I can enjoy it every morning.
