Add a photo of your pet to the Gallery on this page

To assist with the challenge SEPTEMBER Spelt in September GA17819 you will need to add a photo to the Gallery and a little bit of info about your pet on the cache page to log this cache.

The only pet I have is rarely seen. It is a Huntsman Spider called Fred. Fred has been in the house for as long as we have lived here, over 55 years, and only puts in an appearance when it is going to rain. He doesn't show up if it's only going to be a short shower, but if it is really going to rain he will appear, high up on the wall for a few days beforehand. He's never been known to be wrong.
Mind you there's no way we could ascertain if it is the original Fred or one of his descendants, but we have never seen more than one in the house at any time. He's a bit shy but I took a pretty good photo of him in March this year a couple of days before heavy rainfall. The best thing is I don't have to feed him, or take him for walks, and he never barks and annoys the neighbours.

Next....

Congratulations dimor on FTF - loved your cute little frog.

In line with amendments made to requirements for listing and finding a Locationess geocache, this geocache has been reviewed and found not be in line with the listing requirements.

https://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Locationless_cache
Armchair style Locationless caches where the finder is not required to explore the real world, identify a location and accompany the "Find" with photographic evidence are no longer accepted.
A Locationless cache listing must require the finder to locate an object or perform a task in the real world, collect the co-ordinates and log the find with accompanying photographic evidence.

The geocaching community would like to thank you for listing this Locationess geocache and congratulations to all that found this locationless geocache.

As the geocache no longer meets the requirements we will archive the cache listing.

This was our dog Monty he was a great loyal pet. We lost him a few years back so now we like to make a fuss of others dogs when we are out walking or caching

Our boy is about a year and a half old. We rescued him from being sent to the pound.
He loves to be in the room with me and will meow if he can't find me. he sleeps on my bed, sometimes at my feet and sometimes he wants a cuddle.
My daughter has taught him to sit, beg, stand, spin and walk on a lead.

Hi Cybergran
I haven't got a pet
As I travel round tassie too much, I don't feel I could look after one properly
But having read the hint, our favourite "pet" is the one in the photo
His name is Bob and he gets cuddled every night before we go to sleep
TFTC and cheers

This is a photo of our pets Lost (dog) and Rhino. We found lost living on the streets of Ipswich Qld and he appeared to want to come with us. Now Rhino, a different tale. We were watching the movie 'Bolt' and my daughter told me I had the same spaced out look as Rhino had. A mutual friend gave here Rhino for Easter and she pasted him onto us. Now they travel with us all over the country. They are quite, clean and do not trouble anyone.

It is a while since we had a pet but these are the last two that we had. Mine was the appie, called Maddie, and I gave her away when Claim developed a goiter and had to be euthanised. She was a great little horse considering what she had to put up with. I wasn't a rider by any stretch of imagination but she looked after me.

Thanks for bringing back the memories Cybergran V. DancingDancingClan CerberusClan CerberusClan Cerberus

Having downsized into an apartment we no longer have pets. Having been through the trauma of the final visit to a vet a few times over the years, that is something I won't miss doing again.

So, as kindly noted for this cache, I attached a photo of an 'animal' we have sitting on the bookshelf.

Thanks Cybergran for the cache, and the chance to log something other than a pet we no longer have. Very HappyVery Happy

We have had many pets over the years: cats, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits and some hermit crabs. When our last pet died we decide not the replace our much loved cat Kiri because of the difficulties of arranging care when we went to the northern island on our extended trips. However we do have a number of pets in the garden which have adopted us. There is a small family of blue-tongue lizards, numerous frogs (which we hear but rarely see) and a bandicoot. The presence of the bandicoot is often seen in the lawn where it has been digging for grubs. It often comes out during the day and early evening and, unless disturbed, will remain on the lawn for up to 30 minutes. The bandicoot seems to have adopted us to the extent that we now call him Brian. It is great to sit at the window in the lounge room and look out on an episode of The Life Of Brian.

Thanks Cybergran V for the enjoyable cache.

This little one turned up as a tiny little kitten hiding in the bushes next to the car after a weekend of absolutely torrential rain, about 370mm. It took me 4 days of leaving out milk and food before she finally let me catch her, and a visit to the vet next day told me I had caught a little 8-10 week old girl kittie. The already resident cat (who had just moved in by herself a few years before) said some very unladylike things at the time, and it took me a while to get them to be OK together. I ended up naming her Cricket as the first good photo I got of her as a tiny kittie was next to a coffee mug with that written on it.

Now 4 years later I just have this one as I had to let the other one go as age, cancer and arthritis had made it clear she wasn't enjoying life anymore. She is a very friendly little cat, at least to the people she knows and is a good bed snuggler. I think she has enjoyed me working mostly from home since mid March, here she is in her cat cave in the back room where I have the computer stuff setup.

Thanks Cybergan V.

We don’t have a pet, so here is our photo of our little friend who helps us along the way.

One never knows what obstacles are around the corner:-)

We have always had pets. Cats, parrots, axolotls, tiger oscars, goldfish, rabbits, frogs, horses, chooks and our dogs.
We have a couple of cockatiels as well. Hedwig is about 20 yo and Becky about 15.
tn_71722168232.jpg
Hedwig originally lived inside the house and would sit on your shoulder.
tn_87422168232.jpg
Becky came to us, +Wife heard a commotion in the yard one day and upon investigating found our cat had cornered her under a tree.
We named her "Beaky" because if you try to handle her, she bites! As the cat found out.
"Beaky" became "Becky" as time went by. Hedwig loves people, especially our youngest Son, Jeremy, who named him.
They have both outlived a few other cockatiels over the years and now reside outside in an aviary near the back door. xx

Thanks for the cache Cybergran V

This was our puss. She belonged to our neighbour and when the neighbour died, the cat came for a visit, and never left. She was a good little friend and liked nothing better than sitting on the lounge between us, on a fluffy blanket. Sadly she died 18 months ago, with cancer.

This little guy goes by the name of smokey, he is always supervising when someone is doing something important from eating tea to making jigsaw puzzles.
Thanks for letting us share a pic of one of our animals.

Where to start with this one. Think we've had them all, horses, cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, tropical and cold water fish, even goats.
But for this one I'm going to post a photo of a litter of puppies we bred 4 years ago. Unfortunately we had to part with 5 of the 6 of them and each one was a heartbreaking occasion when they were sold. We did keep one, Maxx, not a wise choice as it turned out as although he's a loveable dog he's not the brightest dog we've ever had.
On a recent caching walk he touched the electric fence not once but twice!! Slow learner.
Thanks.

Thanks to Cybergran V for this cache, we don't have a pet but we do have a significant number of bird friends who inhabit our backyard from time to time.
The image that we selected is one of a New Holland Honey Eater just emerging from our birdbath.
It is quite an unusual glimpse of a soggy bird. ClappingClapping

Thank you for this one. I am in the midst of writing up all the ones to qualify for September spelling one. Our only pet is Honey the Axolotl ad nI ahve used it in a similar locationless in the last two months. I will use my youngest grandsons favourite pillow in the house as it is his by his right when he visits. You do not argue with a 3 year old. Attitude to burn. TFTL Clan MinotaurClan Minotaur

Have always wanted a labradoodle and this one walks past our house everyday. This is my next pet.
Have had plenty of pets. The most boisterous was Buster who was a Gordon Setter (similar to a Red setter with a soft mouth. He didn't know how to control his tail. It was too far from his brain but boy was he loyal.

We don't have a pet any more so I'm posting the last photo we took of our constant companion for 15 years, Basil.

We bought him as a pup while were having a weekend away with friend in Mudgee ... the friends bought his brother at the same time. After buying the pups, we were having breakfast in one of the cafes in town ... a couple of us were having eggs with basil pesto on top and that gave them their names ... Basil and Pesto.

We have no pets. Well none alive but do have the ashes of 'my babies' next to the TV. I just couldn't part with them.

One day I happened to be watering the patio garden and this gorgeous little one scared the crap out of me. He must have like the camera as he stayed still for the photo. I haven't given it a name

Another cache to help you With the SEPTEMBER Spelt in September Challenge GA17819, and the opportunity to share your photos and tell us about your pets.
They are so much a part of your lives and a friend to talk to and enjoy their company during these restrictive times.
