Found the old hidey hole. Considered leaving a new cache. I'm a Laaaaaaaady, duh! le

13-Aug-17
Not caching anymore, so it's only fair to free up a spot for someone else.
Will remove when I get back that way.

25-Apr-17
cache safe and sound - the leeches are taking good care of it!

Have been up here several times over the years before discovering Geocaching, so what better reason to come back for another look, and find a cache. Quick find of the container.

Another cool little walk, this time along the river, up to the ruins and then a bit further to GZ. No-one else along so all nice and quiet. Stopped and had a look at the ruins before taking the high road to GZ. Once there, cache was found without issue and all was good with it.

Thanks CraigRat, an interesting area with a bit of history. Couple of photos attached....

A pleasant stroll, lovely scenery, zero muggles, lots of interesting history & a cache to find (well, there were two but the other was deemed to be within a no go zone today). How good is that? Even better, we were amazed at the pristine condition of the cache which despite it's age & lack of recent finds showed no water damage whatsoever. Are you sneaking out to do a little unannounced maintenance CraigRat?

07-Oct-14
Have visited the ruins of the mill in the past, good excuse to go exploring beyond.. thanks..!!

19-Jul-14
A lovely day for a stroll in the bush. A quick find when we got to GZ but along the way we both got jumped on by a wet dog, picked up a leech each and mr sharnie's tribe managed to gash his arm on a tree branch. So thanks for the cache, we think! Smile

28-May-14
Found while out enjoying a ride along the trails. Too much water flowing to attempt the virtual cache in the area. Lovely place. TFTC

25-Apr-14
Found it, but doesn't seem to have been found for a year! Question Took ball, left pig. SmileDancing

A warm morning for a stroll but a lovely spot to visit. TFTC

Enjoyed doing this cache very much. A lovely riverside walk that includes ruins and cascading waterfalls. Thanks for organising the cache and showing us some history of the region. TNLNSL.

We always like coming here when the river is flowing well.
As one half of us was suffering a really bad cold we didn't walk the circuit so instead just walked to the cache and back. It was good to see the track work and newly planted trees since we were here last year - before we started geocaching.

We have had this cache on the to do list for so long and today was the perfect day for it. The bush and the salty river smelt so good today. Thanks heaps CraigRat for this cache.

25-Mar-12
Had a most enjoyable walk through along the river, past the ruins that we had explored some time ago, and then up the hill into new territory to seek the cache. It was a nice easy find and then on the return journey took the wrong fork and ended up on a 4wd track that took me past another old house ruin where it looks like some lively parties have recently been held, and then back to the road again. Thanks for the hunt CraigRat.

24-Jan-12
Hot day for a walk, refreshed by a swim on the way back to the geo mobile.

Out Frogging and decided to continue on to find this one. DGT used to hang out here in her younger days so it was nice to come back Smile TFTC

On a trip up north finding frogs (one close by just down the road), we managed to mix this one into the the finds today along with hAH-HA just down the track.
Didn't take long to find once we were on the right trail.
Took nothing, left nothing. Thanks for the cache CraigRat

31-Dec-11
Out frog hunting and was on the area. Probably not the best day for a walk in the woods but no snakes seen thankfully

While my wife attended a conference in Launceston I was allowed to go caching for two days in and around the Launceston Area. In the end I managed to go through to Derby and get the icem cache I wanted to find, through to Kayena and check my caches there and clear out the majority of Launceston Traditionals that were actually there. The only one that I failed to get was "Power to the People", where I simply ran out of time.

Great cache, I wandered (actually ran) to the cache after find the nearby virtual. A tree has fallen near the ground zero making access a littel difficult.

How good is this cache!! This is one that all cachers should do. The walk is great and easy, the structures are full of history and the cascades are worth seeing.
To see a Pelican feeding and the sound of other birds from within the bush were tremendous.
I also found out why madchilli has her taken that name; "hAH-HA"; could not cross the river as there was too much water.
Walked on to get this cache which was logged at 1531hrs.
The sun getting lower in the sky made the valley beautiful and the light waxed beautiful on the water and the surrounds.
The history lesson on something that I did not know existed was great.
Thanks Craig for this new experience and the cache.
Cheers OldSaint.

Found it this afternoon, pleasant walk. Nice little cache. I've walked past it hundreds of times. Never knew it was there. I thought we were TNLNing but the daughter left a feather. Thanks for an enjoyable find.

A pleasant stroll with a quick find (unusual snake). The nearby virtual was virtually impossible today, will return.TFTC

28-Aug-10
Recent storms have brought down big tree beside GZ but all is well with cache. Pink python guarding the stash made AuntyTom jump. TNLN. TFTC.

08-Aug-10
The terrain rating was a lot higher today. I took the lower track and had to scramble up though the scrub to get to Gz. The GPSr wandered and I ended up circling through the scrub getting very wet. Eventually it settled enough to get a good sight and the cache was found.TNLN. TFTC!

20-Mar-10
Enjoyed the walk to this cache, it's in a lovely area, thanks for bringing us to yet another place we didn'y realise was here. We are discovering a lot of great places in Tasmania we would never have known was there, and its all thanks to geocaching!!!

On the road to 300…
5th cache on the list today, headed straight up to this one from hAH-HA… don’t know how you missed the right path red tag……lol Found after a short search only to be greeted by the ‘guardian’ I think this cache should stay quite safe while he stays around….

After a pleasant stroll along the path it was up the steps to gz. A quick find and I was on my way. TNLN Thanks

17-Feb-10
Yes, it was a rather steep trek up to GZ but once there, it was a quick find. Interesting history along the way.

13-Feb-10
Got to be much much earlier to beat sirius if he is on the way in the mornings redtag!

12-Feb-10
Hey...Redtag...at least I left a prize....lol.

11-Feb-10
How the heck can anyone beat a 0630 find????
I thought this one was well and truly mine when I rocked up shortly before 0730 at the carpark.
I wasnt expecting a dump of rain on my arrival and a raincoat wasnt something I brought with me but I set off regardless.
Something else I didnt do was read the description so when I should have turned uphill I continued on following the river by mistake.
On and on and on I went....past the weir....in the pouring rain!
The GPS was all over the show and the terrain was about a 4. Time to turn back and find another way.
Some time later......
Arrived at GZ(about 0830) and then made the shocking discovery of a log already in the book.
Ohh my goodness sirius! think we need to put something in your water to make you sleep!
I composed myself, signed the log, took the FTF prize and wandered back to the car along the very obvious track!
Lots of fun from start to finish! Thanks CraigRat
and well done sirius, you crafty ol' bugger Smile

11-Feb-10
Too hot to sleep...but not for caching of course....out and about at cache by 0630...all very quiet except for some largish fish jumping in the river. This cache should definitely remain muggle free...easily found...left FTF prize for another cacher(hope they don't read this log...he he). Enjoyed revisiting this cache this time as much as the first...over 3yrs between. Lots of great history....and another top spot. Many thanks CraigRat...Cheers.
