Description

Think about it you scurvy dog!

In days gone by, buried treasure, secrets and caches were hidden and their positions recorded on a map, for later discovery and retrieval, usually with a mark showing the spot such as an X. But interestingly enough the symbol X is also the roman symbol for ten, which is the milestone that geocaching has acheived here in Australia.

So to make my mark on the spot in celebrating this milestone, I have placed a cache and have a X to mark the spot.

To find the cache you need these co-ordinates. Good Luck

S27 31.129 E 153 13.177

S27 32.566 E 153 13.953

S27 31.818 E 153 14.403

S27 32.256 E 153 12.926

The best place to park is S+0.045 and E-0.051 from final co-ordinates.

I couldn't find this one. It looks like GZ is currently frequented by young ones so they may have found it or it's been a while since the last find so the container could be buried or it's just me suffering cache blindness (again!). I didn't have enough time for a thorough search but will return soon for a better look.

Knowing we’d be visiting the area ‘one day soon’ we solved this puzzle in preparation. Today was the day. Very Happy Parked at the suggested coords and made our way to GZ.
Not sure if we’d even find this unloved cache but not only did we find it... it’s in great condition. Clapping That’s a good hide and a well made cache. Clapping
Thanks for the fun puzzle and cache GhostGums.

I solved this months and months ago. But, whenever I found myself in the area, I'd discover that the GPS had lost the corrected coordinates. Eventually I put them in a Google Doc but the cache slipped off my radar. I guess part of it was that it had been unfound for almost five years and I didn't really think that it would still be there. But the other day I saw that it had been found aod today, I happened to be in the area and remembered it. So I opened up the Google Doc and put the coordinates in the GPS and off I went. Once at GZ, there was only one place it could be. In between ducking out of view of walkers and cyclists, I made a quick find. I was surprised to find it all in such perfect condition, now with extra swag thanks to the previous finder.

Super excited to find this mystery cache DancingDancingDancing ...it has not been found for 5 years....it is still there yippeeee. My nice white pants that I wore to work got a bit grubby searching around for this cache and I did a fair bit of a bush bash...which I need not have done once I found the location and had the D'oh moment. Brick Wall I spend more time lost when I drive than I do in the bush...I missed the turn off on the way and ended up down at the Victoria Point roundabout so then had to drive through Cleveland and do a round trip back to the right road. Ok I get the Relative of yours clue now...well not while I was in the bush but when I was thinking about it on the drive home ThinkThink ...oh yeah...now I get it.

lol the box up there says add co-ordinates....I don't think so, Shame on you that would give the game away!!!
TFTC GhostGums...that was a fun one to work out and find. ClappingClappingClapping

Found by Sunshine Toledo at 9:15am. With a slight adjustment from the owner of the cache after I had thought that I had worked it out, I was on my way to find it. When I arrived at GZ I couldn't find it anywhere so had to look harder and deeper to spy the prize. TFTC

An interesting telling of the tale by Gunnie. Not EXACTLY as it happened.....he missed the bit that went...."OK, I know how to solve this one but don't have the IT wherewithall to do it. Would you please try xyz and see how we go". And was I right....YES!!

AND I located the cache when we got to GZ...well, couldn't really have chosen a more ideal spot for X to Mark! I love this area and a find addition to celebrate the anniversary.

Thanks for the cache GhostGums. Cheers, svn07.

Caching over this way with Svn07 today, I had sent a map of caches I wanted to do... Swift in reply, Svn07 suggested I add this one to the list.. BUT, there was a catch... Oh Please Gunnie, can you do the ground work for the puzzle and obtain a set of final coords... Huh, how does that work... ???

Anyway, a set of coords derived from the puzzle, I sent them to Ghostgums for confirmation prior to embarking on the cache... Not a bad effort, I was within a few metres of GZ... Smile

After hunting the other nearby cache, Svn07 and I wanderred over for this one and Svn07 headed straight for a likely hidey hole and pulled out the container... Wink Nice work... Nothing like taking the glory... Kiddin... Very Happy

Thanks for the fun Ghostgums...

Looks as though gunnie and svn07 followed us around a day later.

This was number 4 for the morning and it was almost time to go home for breakfast.

I think this is the first time I have used my drafting skills to find a cache.

I also used Google as a check but I had come up with an area which looked like it needed a cache.

Today, I braved the elements to test out my theory and I found a cache within metres of my calculated spot. I opened the log book and found that I was *FTF*.

thanks GhostGums, a great spot.
