Description
Seems to be a defacto shooting range judging by the number of spent gun shells lying around.
Near the Maddingley Coal Mine, this is an interesting back road find.
I would suggest parking on the roadside near the gas plant. It is clear to me that other people think it is ok to cut fences and drive through the holes to satisfy their own urges, but personally I feel that this is bad Karma.
It is well worth taking a walk east from GZ, along the track around to where the mine/dump is. On one walk down there I saw the biggest Wedgie ever, just taking off from one of the rock ridges ovelooking the dump.
Placed this as a part of the 10th anniversary of geocaching in Australia celebration.
I would recommend it isn't safe to visit here dressed as a bunny!!

What a great spot this is. As stated there were many spent shells nearby but fortunately not a lot of rubbish and no one spreading fertilizer on us.
A nice quick find thanks to accurate coordinates.
It seems some other "pot shots" may happen in the area. Someone (hopefully not a geocacher) has decided to draw a "life size" (snicker) C & B in the log book. I castrated it out and disposed of it thoughtfully.
Thanks for the cache, we seem to be having a g_ordo day today.
We are currently touring Victoria with our geovan in tow, using geocaching as a guide. We have visited many amazing locations through geocaching and your cache Acts of Gord was one we visited along the way.
Many thanks G_ordo for publishing this cache for our enjoyment and adding to our geocaching experience today. Cache and contents were in excellent condition.
Tassie Trekkers are now a locationless geocache we have published a 'Geocacher cache' - Travelling Trekkers GA10932 - so if you spot us in your area sign our log book and receive a code word to earn yourself a We were one of the lucky teams to receive a pathtag from Geocaching Australia for publishing a "Geocacher Cache" - thanks Geocaching Australia.

********************This lengthy log is because we are currently working towards a trophy for "I write treatises for a living" - Average 150 or more words per valid dragonZone geocache find log or did not find log excluding geocaches that you own. Slowly getting there********************
A farmer near by was spreading Dynamic Lifter on a pasture up wind of us and the smell was over powering. We were not going to be put off by the smell so continued towards the cache.
When we reached the end of the walk way we had to cross another fence to reach the àrea where the cache was hidden. A row of very large rocks had been dumped àcross the access way to prevent people driving down the walk way and dumping their rubbish. Such a pity people think that any openspace is a potential rubbish dump.
Spot on coordinates enabled us to make a quick find of a well hidden cache. We were pleased we did not have to scramble down the rock face. It was great to find the contàiner and contents in excellent condition. After replacing the cache as found we sat on the rocks and watched a large eagle soar up from the valley floor and float almost directly above us.
As the wind was getting up we were pleased to reach the car. We felt that we had received a good fertiliźing on our way to and from the cache.
Thanks for the cache and for an interesting caching experience g_orďo. We were glad that the cache is still in excellent condition but surprised that it was last found in November 2015. We hope that it gets a few more visitors in the future.
A nice little walk and a quick find. A large fence has been put up at the car park to stop people going down there (why I don't know) but someone has cut a hole just the right size to walk through so that was no issue. Interesting place - I assume it was a rubbish tip at some point in time?

There is a family of at least 3 blue tongues living under the adjacent rock.
Cheers Gordo
Beautiful view here.
Cache and log book still good condition.
Thanks g_ordo for bring me here and cache.
The cache notes say it all! The way some people treat our country is unbelievable! We rescued Trackable "Rex the Storm Trooper" (TB2AWX2) after his stay in this GCA cache - not a very easy electronic manover, seeing it is actually logged in a GC cache.
LN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt g_ordo.
Unfortunately the 22 was along way away.
It certainly looks like the area gets a good workout.
Shells everywhere.
GZ was found after a quick search, I signed the log and was off.

Strange place, shame so many people use it as a general dump. The view close to GZ we great and the cache was found just before I made the terrain rating a lot higher.

Thanks g_ordo
Certainly an area we have not visited. I was am curious about the gas installation and the noise it was making when we pulled up. It would be worth putting in the cache notes if you could find out.
I enjoyed this cache a lot more than one a couple of years ago in Melton South down in a gully and as I was walking toward gz someone fired off a whole magazine of shots in the gully. Very disconcerting. I was certainly glad to get back to the car as I felt like a rabbit in the spotlight.

Our thanks to g_ordo for the 10th Anniversary contribution and bringing us here.

And, what hasn't been shot at around here?
Watch out for the barbed wire if you go through the fence.
Things I do on my RDO.
The Riddeller.
Find number 10 out of 16 in the wet today. Do I have to jump two fences to get to it? Yes. Cool. Thanks g_ordo!

I took the back way into the cache location and parked at the gas station as advised. A short walk through the whistling wind (and boy was it cold) down to GZ.
With a terrain 1 I was looking for something a little easier, but nevertheless I found the cache. Maybe up the terrain rating to a 2 which would give an indication of how close to the edge you need to be.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks g_ordo for this cache highlighting this area and a great view. No birds today, I think they were all at home (well, they should be if they were clever).
