out and about with Lil Rafa caching for the new Battleship GCA game, this was on the list to find this weekend. TFTC TNLN lots of hiding places you have to scout around with the coords.
After doing the GeoArt Arrow trail this morning and then grabbing a few other random caches we headed back in to Launceston to grab these caches.
We sat in the car park eating our lunch and debating whether to drive, ride or walk to get these.
In the end we decided to drive to those that we could and walk to the rest.
A quick find here at the first we tackled, with the benefit of having read previous logs.
Unfortunately I couldn't help but tread on one grave to access this one - something I don't like doing.
Thanks.

A Day out with Oldsaint finding some GCA caches for the new Blitz Event. The day was amazing, from snow to blue sky, from heavy showers to dry roads. One leach to report though!
Started the day at 6am, although Oldsaint had driven from Huonville by then. The drive north was interesting, and even though Symons Plains had a race day on, nobody was there at 8am
Proceeded directly to our main target, the Sail Boat Geoart, and completed about 9 before the heavy shower set in, so we decided we could drive to the last during the shower and work our way back. At the last we we greeted by a large amount of snow on the sides of the road, and throughout the tree. We occasionally got "snow balled" from trees above as we were caching. Great day out.
According to the rules of Blitz
Blitz is a dragonZone encounter where you find as many unique valid dragonZone geocaches as you can during a set period of time in an attempt to earn a reward.
Rewards are in the form of dragonZone points but are only awarded if the entire team of geocaches who are playing dragonZone combine to exceed the total number of finds required.
If the entire team of geocachers who are playing dragonZone reach or exceed the total number of finds required then at the end of the game you will receive a number of dZ points based on your percentage contribution of unique finds.
For example:
Make 1% of the total finds, receive 1% of the total rewards points.
Make 5% of the total finds, receive 5% of the total rewards points.
Make 10% of the total finds, receive 10% of the total rewards points.
dZPoints will be rounded up to the nearest whole number.
The more unique geocaches you find the more you are rewarded.
Geocaches you find during the game must have been hidden and published prior to the game announcement.

This cache had me stumped as I looked and I looked and I couldn't find it, so I was going to log a DNF and look for it another day...
But, as I was wandering around looking for (and finding) all the other caches, I realised that a theme was happening...
So, once I got them all found (except this one), I decided to go back and have another good look. The co-ordinates aren't perfect but (as noted before) the cache is in an obvious spot, which I actually had a look at but didn't look hard enough.
Thank you so much for placing this series of caches Hilberts, I have enjoyed nearly every single one! Well, some more than others!

Found on an afternoon walk, the gps seemed a little off and with many hide options it was a bit tricky but got there in the end

Was working in Scottsdale and on the way back i had a bit of time up my sleeve so grabbed a couple of the Graveyard Dash series.
Also while hiding some moveables near a cache i found a wallet that looked like it had been stolen, so i gave it to the office.
The gps was saying the other side of the little road but common sense prevailed as the cache was found in the obvious spot. TFTC

I saw this series published a few days ago and waited until today when I had an appointment in the area. I enjoyed the walk around the reserve so thank you Hilberts for the cache.

A quick find early in the morning. My second go at this series but only time for two this morning TFTC
After visiting friends in George Town, we came back into Launceston to look for caches in the recently published Ethen's Graveyard Dash series. When we arrived, we were relieved to see that the main gates remained open until 19:00 which gave Mr y'stassie just under an hour to drive around the western end of the cemetery whilst the other member of the team concentrated on the reserve at the eastern end and the track on the Opossum Road side.
It took a little while to locate this cache as there were many potential hiding spots. After not finding anything at the published coordinates, the search are was widened and the cache was finally located 9m away from GZ. The cache and contents were in good condition. There being no other entries in the logbook, we will claim {FTF} at 18:15. Thanks Hilberts for the cache and the series.
