Description

A cache placed for the 2020 Game of Games

Game Period: 01-Dec-2020 00:00:00 to 31-Dec-2020 23:59:59 AEST

Lane Cove was hidden on the 18th May 2000 which made it the first geocache on Australian soil. Geocaching Australia had a small celebration in 2010 called the 10th Anniversary of Geocaching in Australia. 20 years after the first Australia geocache was placed we are now marking the 20th anniversary of Geocaching in Australia. To help celebrate the 20th anniversary of Geocaching in Australia, the 2020 team at Geocaching Australia have worked together to create the 2020 Game of Games rewards which are 12 monthly games based on finding and hiding geocaches at Geocaching Australia.

Geocaching Australia has minted a special 20th Anniversary 2020 Game of Games pathtag to be made available as a reward to participants who qualify and are randomly selected to receive the reward.

To qualify for this month you will need to:

  • Find and log 15 physical* geocaches.

    • The log date must be in the game month.

    • The log must be made in the game month.

    • *Physical geocaches are:
Moveable, Beacon, Gadget, Burke & Wills, Reverse, Multi, Night, Podcache, Augmented Reality, Traditional, Unknown or TrigPoint.

== OR ==

  • Hide and publish 5 physical* geocaches of specified size.

    • The geocache size (container) must be small, regular or large.

    • The hidden date must be in the game month.

    • The published date must be in the game month.

    • *Physical geocaches are:
Moveable, Beacon, Gadget, Burke & Wills, Reverse, Multi, Night, Podcache, Augmented Reality, Traditional, Unknown or TrigPoint.

This little series will take you to various places around Railton.

All Caches have a stash note, a notebook, and a pen.

Went for a drive today to mark a few more off the map. Took a chance that it wasn’t too boggy around the area. A couple of puddles and a bit of mud added to the fun. Found easily in obvious locations. TFTC Clan Cerberus

First cache for the day and spotted this one as we pulled up.
Covered a little better than we found it.
Thanks.

I was busy doing the needed work and taking notes for another of this COs caches so it was goose who hoped out the car and made the find, i just noted in his log he mentions a train? I dont know what he's talking about, I think he's dreaming or in cloud cuckoo land, a train in Tasmania he must be on drugs!

Thanks for the cache.

We saw a very rare thing for Hobartians, a moving train! After the excitement settled we approached GZ. The egg was happy sitting, the rat was still noting numbers so I hopped out. I could see the logbook on the ground, then found the lidless cache where it was meant to be. After signing the logbook I started searching for the lid and luckily found it a few metres away so put it back together and replaced it all where it should be.
Thanks for another one DEZ055

A Day out with Oldsaint finding some GCA caches for the new Blitz Event. The day was amazing, from snow to blue sky, from heavy showers to dry roads. One leach to report though!
Started the day at 6am, although Oldsaint had driven from Huonville by then. The drive north was interesting, and even though Symons Plains had a race day on, nobody was there at 8am
Proceeded directly to our main target, the Sail Boat Geoart, and completed about 9 before the heavy shower set in, so we decided we could drive to the last during the shower and work our way back. At the last we we greeted by a large amount of snow on the sides of the road, and throughout the tree. We occasionally got "snow balled" from trees above as we were caching. Great day out.

According to the rules of Blitz
Blitz is a dragonZone encounter where you find as many unique valid dragonZone geocaches as you can during a set period of time in an attempt to earn a reward.
Rewards are in the form of dragonZone points but are only awarded if the entire team of geocaches who are playing dragonZone combine to exceed the total number of finds required.
If the entire team of geocachers who are playing dragonZone reach or exceed the total number of finds required then at the end of the game you will receive a number of dZ points based on your percentage contribution of unique finds.

For example:
Make 1% of the total finds, receive 1% of the total rewards points.
Make 5% of the total finds, receive 5% of the total rewards points.
Make 10% of the total finds, receive 10% of the total rewards points.

dZPoints will be rounded up to the nearest whole number.
The more unique geocaches you find the more you are rewarded.
Geocaches you find during the game must have been hidden and published prior to the game announcement.

After staying in Sheffield for a very quiet New Year's Eve we headed off with Tassie Trekkers to find a few more caches on the way to and in the forestry area around Railton and Latrobe and this was one of them. TFTC

On arrival at gz, the cache was found sitting on the mowed grass between both stumps.
Replaced firmly back under the base and replaced a rock in front....should be ok.
Many tftc and tour of Railton surrounds...cheers ST.

We were in town today to see family so took a little tour around Railton to collect these recently published caches.
GPS took us to a spot very close and after one empty spot we uncovered the well hidden container. To our delight we found an empty log book at 12:13.

Thanks for this cache DEZ055. We haven't been around this way for some time and it was interesting to see the growth of the cement plant and the changes to what was once the staff housing section of town. Container and contents were in good condition.
