Description

A cache placed for the 2020 Game of Games

Game Period: 01-Dec-2020 00:00:00 to 31-Dec-2020 23:59:59 AEST

Lane Cove was hidden on the 18th May 2000 which made it the first geocache on Australian soil. Geocaching Australia had a small celebration in 2010 called the 10th Anniversary of Geocaching in Australia. 20 years after the first Australia geocache was placed we are now marking the 20th anniversary of Geocaching in Australia. To help celebrate the 20th anniversary of Geocaching in Australia, the 2020 team at Geocaching Australia have worked together to create the 2020 Game of Games rewards which are 12 monthly games based on finding and hiding geocaches at Geocaching Australia.

Geocaching Australia has minted a special 20th Anniversary 2020 Game of Games pathtag to be made available as a reward to participants who qualify and are randomly selected to receive the reward.

To qualify for this month you will need to:

  • Find and log 15 physical* geocaches.

    • The log date must be in the game month.

    • The log must be made in the game month.

    • *Physical geocaches are:
Moveable, Beacon, Gadget, Burke & Wills, Reverse, Multi, Night, Podcache, Augmented Reality, Traditional, Unknown or TrigPoint.

== OR ==

  • Hide and publish 5 physical* geocaches of specified size.

    • The geocache size (container) must be small, regular or large.

    • The hidden date must be in the game month.

    • The published date must be in the game month.

    • *Physical geocaches are:
Moveable, Beacon, Gadget, Burke & Wills, Reverse, Multi, Night, Podcache, Augmented Reality, Traditional, Unknown or TrigPoint.

This little series will take you to various places around Railton.

All Caches have a stash note, a notebook, and a pen.

Went for a drive today to mark a few more off the map. Took a chance that it wasn’t too boggy around the area. A couple of puddles and a bit of mud added to the fun. Found easily in obvious locations. TFTC Clan Cerberus

This is a track we plan on riding soon, just need to get some more detailed information so that we end up at Warrawee. Did stop at the info centre in Railton to check but they didn't have anything and pointed us to the maps in the window of the building across the road.
This cache took longer to find than it should have and in the end Mr Beetle had to get out and help search and it was him that finally made the find.
Thanks.

A Day out with Oldsaint finding some GCA caches for the new Blitz Event. The day was amazing, from snow to blue sky, from heavy showers to dry roads. One leach to report though!
Started the day at 6am, although Oldsaint had driven from Huonville by then. The drive north was interesting, and even though Symons Plains had a race day on, nobody was there at 8am
Proceeded directly to our main target, the Sail Boat Geoart, and completed about 9 before the heavy shower set in, so we decided we could drive to the last during the shower and work our way back. At the last we we greeted by a large amount of snow on the sides of the road, and throughout the tree. We occasionally got "snow balled" from trees above as we were caching. Great day out.

According to the rules of Blitz
Blitz is a dragonZone encounter where you find as many unique valid dragonZone geocaches as you can during a set period of time in an attempt to earn a reward.
Rewards are in the form of dragonZone points but are only awarded if the entire team of geocaches who are playing dragonZone combine to exceed the total number of finds required.
If the entire team of geocachers who are playing dragonZone reach or exceed the total number of finds required then at the end of the game you will receive a number of dZ points based on your percentage contribution of unique finds.

For example:
Make 1% of the total finds, receive 1% of the total rewards points.
Make 5% of the total finds, receive 5% of the total rewards points.
Make 10% of the total finds, receive 10% of the total rewards points.

dZPoints will be rounded up to the nearest whole number.
The more unique geocaches you find the more you are rewarded.
Geocaches you find during the game must have been hidden and published prior to the game announcement.

After staying in Sheffield for a very quiet New Year's Eve we headed off with Tassie Trekkers to find a few more caches on the way to and in the forestry area around Railton and Latrobe and this was one of them. TFTC

This was the final cache visit for today. We were pleased to see no bike riders in the area so could search without interruption. We quickly located the container and found a forth blank log book. Our last {FTF} for today at 13:25. All was well with the cache.

Thanks for this cache and the series DEZ055. We enjoyed our tour of some of the interesting spots in Railton. There have been many up and downs since Mrs Y'stassie last live in the town. We hope that other cachers will soon take the opportunity to visit these caches.
