Description
Little Bald Rock
This is a 6.5km return walk that climbs to the top of a granite dome, where you’ll be rewarded with superb scenic views of all the main features of Girraween National Park in Queensland. plus views of Bald Rock in NSW. The walking track heads along the base of Bald Rock.
The cache is hidden at the summit of Little Bald Rock. You'll find it in a cache sized nook in the rock - about 4m from a ledge. If you have kids with you keep a close eye on them as there are a number of dangerous areas close to GZ. The box is regular in size, and has plenty of swaps at the time of placement.

Logs
What's the next best thing to going on a bushwalking adventure with MattyRx? Going on an adventure he has prepared for you.
I took the morning easy as my head was threatening to burst. Nope - not going to stop me!
I strapped up my knee with a nerve still pinched in there somewhere from a couple of weeks ago. It's not stopping me!
I looked at the BOM HD Satellite image and the rain radar. I looked outside at the low misty clouds wafting over the surrounding mountains. Rain hey? Not stopping me!
I was meant to be adventuring in Torrington this weekend but my caravan, or my bad luck, had me stranded in Tenterfield. Not stopping me from going adventuring still!
Little Bald Rock had my attention and needed to be explored before I moved on.
Inhaling the fresh eucalypt laden air had my head at ease.
My knee didn't muck up till the last 2km.
The rain was only misty till the last 1km when it decided to turn from a whisper into a song and dance.
This was the perfect place to be today.
I loved the walk here and playing around climbing all over the rocks off to the sides of the trail (wasn't there something about a knee I should have been mindful of instead???). Starting out the track was really busy... with butterflies. Hundreds! I kid you not, the only time one actually bumped into me was when I paused to watch the way they moved, and one gave me a butterfly kiss, flapping around in my eyelashes. Closest I've been to receiving a real kiss in ages! I could say a week, but that wasn't a real kiss either. haha
The wildflowers were putting on a show - so many different types. Interesting how some were only found around the base of the Rock and nowhere else along the walk like the flannel flowers and an interesting little purple thing that was too hard to get a photo of. There were a couple of breaks in the cloud where i had the chance to see some of the surrounding mountains - gorgeous. Most of the time it was all cloaked in white though.
Climbing up the rock the wind started to pick up and you could watch the cloud washing over the rock just meters in front of you. Magic. But the wind was a little irritating. So once up top I found myself in a nice little nook out of the wind. What a perfect spot to sit and snack and sign a log book! This cache had the best seat on the rock today if you ask me. I couldn't help myself and tested out the coloured pencils - they all work.
I couldn't figure out where the "Loop" looped back to the trail so headed back down and out the way I came in. I think this place needs to be revisit in finer weather so I can explore more, and see more, and maybe meet the Brothers, so I'll be back.
You should count yourself lucky we don't have 'favourite points' here, because I have none to give thanks to...
But of course you can have 5 thumbs up, even though I only have 2 on my hands.
Thanks so much for today's adventure.
