Description
Still a Free Way.
We have only been caching since 2006 and one of the things I love about it is the community and GCA and the forums - thanks to those that make Australian geocaching possible.
This is a location that I drive past every day and often wanted to put a cache here.
Go for a walk along the bike path but be careful not to get run over by a speeding bike - there is no access to the freeway. The hard bit will be a place to park your car.
On most weekday mornings in peek hour if you are on the freeway meters away you maybe tempted to get out find the cache and get back in the car before the traffic moves on!
The cache contains a few odds and ends as well as an FTF prize and a prize for STF too.
Happy Birthday to Us.

On the hunt for a cache published in 2010 and this is the closest to home. A nice quick find here today. I enjoyed reading all the logs in this original logbook. I hope this hide lasts for another 10 years but I did notice that a nearby stand of Cyprus trees are being removed. I decided to continue along the Koonung Creek Trail and have a bit of a wander, returning to the car via the back streets.
Thank you for placing this cache Solomonfamily.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We set out today to find dragonZone caches in 3 or more different local government areas. This was ourfirst stop.
Mr Y'stassie dropped his other half and parked some distance away. We were glad of the warning about the bike riders whizzing down the track. This enabled us to avoid several groups of young cyclists on their way to school via the path.
We had little trouble locating the hide and found the container and contents in good condition.
Thanks for this cache Solomonfamily. We enjoyed visiting this cache as it is well hidden and can be retrieved out of sight from those using the path.

We are currently touring Victoria with our geovan in tow, using geocaching as a guide. We have visited many amazing locations through geocaching and your cache - Still a Freeway - was one we found along the way.
Many thanks SolomonFamily for publishing this cache for our enjoyment and adding to our geocaching experience. Made a quick find at GZ once we worked out how to gain access to the area.
Tassie Trekkers are now a locationless geocache we have published a 'Geocacher cache' - Travelling Trekkers GA10932 - so if you spot us in your area sign our log book and receive a code word to earn yourself a We were one of the lucky teams to receive a pathtag from Geocaching Australia for publishing a "Geocacher Cache" - thanks Geocaching Australia.
The States of the nation games are coming - join the fun from the 16th December 2017 - 21st January 2018

I have driven past this area many times and today I decided to stop and search for this cache. The path was very quiet so I was able to hunt amongst the trees at ease. While carefully negotiating the low branches I overbalanced and fell on some barbed wire that tore my jeans and scratched my leg. Being 'just a flesh wound' I was able to struggle on and find this well hidden cache before limping back to my car and scrubbing the dirt and rust out of my knee.
Thank you solomonfamily for this cache, even if it did cause me grief.

#1009 - 20:00; I was on a caching run around Melbourne collecting a few GCA caches out Whitehorse way and took a detour to collect a few on the way back to the city. I eventually found a park for the geomobile and headed off for this one, with trusty torch in hand. Despite the late hour, I managed a quick find and sign before heading off for more on the way back to the city. TFTC solomonfamily

Nearly 2 years without this being found and I did not expect it to be there, and surprise surprise there it was, sitting in the open. Although it is sealed up, there are a few things going mouldy inside and could do with a clean out. Log book is slightly damp too . Thanks for the cache

It's been a couple of years since I visited so on a quest for some DragonZone points I decided to walk here and see if it was still in place. Thankfully it was and in good condition, although exposed (I covered it up again properly)

A fantastic evening caching run by bike, and a GCA cache in need of some love. How could I resist?
Thanks, once again, Solomanfamily, and apologies for taking so long to log it... I only just now realised that I hadn't at the time.

Third of a GCA trio while on the way to work on this 'dirty' morning of the solstice . At least the bad weather keeps the muggles away and I was soon logging the find at 08:50.
There's a bit of tree-lopping taking place near, but not at, GZ so it might be worth dropping by for a look to assess.
TNLNSL. Thanks Solomonfamily.

Stopped here today to retrieve our Christmas Bear TB, which has been languishing here for too long, and needs to get moving.
This was a great cache which was my middle son's first find and our third for the afternoon. Had to think aboout this one for a few moments as disguising is good. Some great little bits and pieces inside that the kids liked.

Found whilst tackling a few caches in this area An easy find, I dropped off the Xmas Bear travelbug TFTC
Found this cache today. The hardest thing was as the owner said finding a place to park the car to get this cache. I was almost tricked by the clue and made it hard for myself before finding the cache exactly as said!
I took the string and left castle magnet and hand.
TFTC Well worth stopping for.

I have been waiting all week log to go out and bag a swag of caches tonight, as Monday nights are set aside for a bit of me time and I chose to cache. Only problem was tonight was wet and miserable and I think I had wet shoes within minutes of starting out. Not a great start for caching. Anyway I had my first find by 5 pm so I was happy to start that well, and by 6 pm I’d finished five. Then I started a few multi’s and then it slowed a little. All in all it was a good night, with a few DNF’s but mainly a good bag, and home by ten pm. Thanks .
This is the closest unfound "10 years" cache to me no longer!
I love these old trees. I wonder what the area looked like when they were planted. I'm sure there was a bit less traffic noise!
Cheers Solomonfamily, thanks for helping me explore an area that is new to me.

This is closest GCA to home for me so I've been keen to log it since I started caching a couple of months ago. Finally convinced the geokids to go for a ride along the bike path and stopped for a quick find (using the clue). The geokids were more interested in the dead magpie on the ground. Took bag hook and headphones. Left bubbles, dol and spider. Thanks Solomonfamily.

I have had this on the caching radar for a while and finally had a chance to find it tonight on the way to the pub. Nice spot for a cache I had to park a long way down the nearby street to park legally.
Thanks for the cache, tnln.

2010-11-28 18:53 Found it #120 Another lone cache run to part of my old stamping ground as I grew up nearby in Bulleen. I parked a street up from GZ and walked to down the freeway location. A short search with the GPS had me at the wrong tree. I think the trees played havoc with the GPSr. I needed the hint as GPS didn't agree with final location even after I tried to average the location. Cache is still in good condition. TNLN TFTC SL

Recalling features from Google Satellite:
In the right cluster saw the "marker" but did not investigate further.
Moved back out to a different cluster, lots for broken glass bottles and a barb-wire caught my jeans.
Fired up Tomtom:
Move to initial cluster and re-looked at the "marker".
Ah! neat box.
Took: miniature "tupperware" dangling thingy.
Left: expired overseas pre-paid sim card.
Cold, windy and intermittent drizzle - now my face is numb!

An easy find once at GZ.
Not a suitable container. It has leaked and there is water and rust on the inside of the can rendering most things inside spoiled.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks guys, but you may want to check this cache for suitability.

On my way home from junior state training at Doncaster, thought I'd pick this one up as it is fairly close to the freeway. Nice big trees, shame about the rubbish and shopping trolleys nearby! Good to tick another 10th Anniversary Cache off my list, thanks.

This one's only a few hundred metres off my usual route to work, so I haven't been in a hurry to get it as I figured I could do it just about any time and I've been concentrating on caches further afield while the weather is still pretty good. I'm pretty much up to date on all of the local newies now, though - so I decided to get it on the way in today. I'd been a little unsure of what was going to be the best way to access the cache, but a motorbike has certain advantages over a car and I was able to park on the footpath on Wetherby Rd right where the bike path access joins it and I was less than 100m from GZ. A short stroll had me in sight of GZ, but I was becoming a bit concerned that I'd need a machete and a chainsaw to access it, so I checked the hint and then realized that there was nowhere near as much growth on the shady south side of the row of trees and I was able to access it quite easily and make a quick find.

Our first 'real' GCA cache with the others being locationless or unexpected 'events'... So today was time to knock off a couple of close to home GCA caches which we've seen but never bothered sending to the GPSr before. But now with GCA linking in with GSAK we had no excuses!
Soon found, after checking numerous possible spots...

This was the closest of the new GCA caches to our base, so this morning I decided a nice walk was in order. Started out about 8am and made it to the cache about 9:45, about 8.4km later after a detour to grab a GC cache along the way which had eluded us for some time.
Just enough out of the way for a relaxing examination of the cache contents. It was nice to find an STF prize - thanks.
Thanks Solomonfamily - Great hide in a very pleasant location.
