Description

Le Geographe 1827

Hidden as Part of the GeoArt games.

This Series of GeoArt Caches are in the shape of the Ship, they will tell you the story of Baudin as he leaves his Homeland.

There is a lot of local history as you meander around the Lower South West of WA, shipwrecks, stories, artifacts, and several original homesteads to pursue.

As History goes, this story started in the early 1800's.

It is a series of caches which traverse along the Busselton Bike Path, showcasing the wonderful Geographe Bay.

Let the Historical Journey continue...

By July 1803 Baudin and many of the crew were ill; Baudin abandoned the survey to return home to France. In September 1803 Baudin died at Ile de France [Mauritius] and the Casuarina was abandoned there.

To be continued...

Again we spent a long time searching this area but failed to locate a little container. Again it may be buried under a layer of sand or have been covered by the recent plant growth. A CO check would be appreciated.
