Description
A 10th anniversary multi-cache which also commemorates a famous Australian.
At the listed coordinates you will find the grave of a famous Australian, probably not as well known nowadays but a pioneer of his time. He is described as five things: soldier, ..., countryman, writer and a co-founder of an Australian icon. Of course the cache is not here but you need to do the following to find the final cache location.
To the given S coordinates you must add the square root of the last digit of the year he died.
To the given E coordinates you must subtract the day in July his wife died.
These coordinates will lead you to the final cache location which is not in a gravesite.
We hope you learn something about an Australian pioneer buried in a quiet semi-rural cemetery. In the cache is a sheet with more information.
While you are here have a look to see how many graves have Russian names on them.

Ha ha - I knew exactly which Hudson from a previous visit. Info was easy to collect and calculations not too onerous. iPhone wanted me a bit further away but I spotted something that needed investigation and had my name in the log book shortly afterwards. TFTC Yurt
Thanks Yurt......a thought it was a great idea for a cache the last time I visited.....and still think the same, but at least this time I'm leaving with a find......great cache all round. Outstanding.
When I looked at this one, I wondered who it might be...but certainly didn't pick him. I guess he/they were locals to be buried here...
Anyway, did the maths ok, but look as I did, I couldn't find a regular size cache anyway. Still not all was lost as it was a surprise to see the area in question...and nice to walk to around.
Thanks anyway Yurt...hopefully next time.
Today pjmpjm and I got there and the cache was soon in hand, all is well and dry.
Thanks for the history lesson and nice cache.
All good to go as Baktrak has observed.
Keep checking and let me know when they are back up.
"The graves you're refurbishing, aren't by any chance for Hudson #*& and his wife?", I query. "Yes" says he. "And the headstones?" said I. "Back at the works" he replied.
They should return by December.
I had found WP1 before but didn't keep the details, so it took a bit of time to relocate the correct gravestone. Some quick calcs ensued and I headed off to GZ for a quick find in the obvious locale".
Thanks Yurt for getting this back on-line.
Signed a brand new log:) TFTC
When the cache is ready to be activated again the owner can place a 'published' log and it will go live
I guess it needs more than just maintenance, it needs a whole new container!
Lots of workman around hindered our search however. GeoBikie chick scared them off for a while, however we came up empty.
There is a lot of leaf litter around which made us cautious.
Will have to go back at a quieter time.
The maths was easy, but when I started to approach GZ I thought I might have made a mistake, but no luckily there was really only one place the cache could be.
Thanks for a really interesting piece of Aussie history. no swaps but this may need a slight bit of maintenance. The cache is dry as is the log book in its double bag, but the history sheet, is really damp and it won't be long before the log book is affected if the bag is not sealed properly. This sheet may need to be replaced with a dry one.
A quick dash across the road to visit Hargraves Nursery.......
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be drying out too quickly .. still damp
Added bonus - I stopped in at Hargreaves on the way and bought a few small plants.
TFTC, Cheers.
Thanks for the lesson.

This cache adventure was very interesting indeed, and based in an area I know well. Amazingly, WP1 is located right next to the grave of two old friends of mine (not related to Hudson). I couldn't believe it when I got there. And the eventual GZ is directly adjacent to a building and property rented by my company five years ago.
Cache container is a nice study one and in very good condition. Cache contents were excellent. TNLNSL.
My GPSr kept telling me that I was 10-11 metres off at GZ. However, this reading could be due to the peculiarities of my own little machine or the fault of those damn satellites that always plague us geocachers . . .
Take note of the CO's 'Hints' section if you have questions about the outer limits of your search.
Thanks for yet another great cache, Yurt!
Lo and behold, it was still active with new clues.
A quick bit of planning and a quiet afternoon meant I was able to "sneak" away early in the hope that no-one had beaten me. After a trip that took forever, I parked the car and walked without running to the new location. Had I been beaten?
With trembling hands I opened the log book to find.....nothing.
Woo Hoo...!! I was the first to find Yurt's cache.
A great history lesson Yurt, how did you find this place. I'm impressed. It was worth the long drive(s) just to be here.
