Description

Paradise Peninsula - Sandford

This cache has been placed to celebrate a new Geocaching Australia type and is the first GeoArt placed in Tasmania.

It is called a GeoArt geocache. This new geocache type is a sub type of a traditional geocache where the phsycal geocache container is at the published co-ordinates. In adddition to the published co-ordinates an additional set of co-ordinates are required which will place a map marker in order to display your GeoArt.

The caches have been placed in the general area of "Paradise Peninsula" (as called by the locals) which starts at Lauderdale and ends at Opossum Bay. It is also the area we have called home for over 33 years.  Here you can play BOWLS, golf, fish, go boating, surf, kayak, mountain bike plus many other activities and of course plenty of GEOCACHES to find.

I hope you enjoy the series.

Parking in Sandville Place, S43 00.039 E147 29.700

Please bring your own pen.

"Hello whitewebbs thank you for the cache.

The cache didn't take too long to find but signing the log in the dark was a bit awkward.

Another caching trip with EeePees in the South Arm area wit a great friend.

Parked next to #7 and I left Mr Beetle to get that one while I wandered across the road and down to GZ to look for this one.
My botanical knowledge is dreadful but I do know what a blackwood is as we have heaps of them in our bush.
A fairly quick find at GZ and hoped Mr Beetle had the same success as we still had a lot of caches to look for on today's list.
Thanks.

Today was a rare family free day in the south of the state so we thought we'd have a go at some of the caches in the South Arm area. This geoart was published about the same time we were down here last and has been on the to do list ever since. We tackled the caches out of order but in a sequence that made sense for us. We really enjoyed the series, the different hides and the fact that there was parking handy to each of them. Our first geoart finds, woohoo! Thanks for the caches and the series

Thanks for this Geoart series Whitewebbs. Today was a lovely day to look for caches in this area, so the GeoGSP and I headed out for an afternoon of sunshine, visiting beaches and finding caches.
More Tanagara Trail that the GeoGSP and I have not walked before - this was a lovely little stroll today, nice and shady. Quick find at GZ, cache is all in good order.

We loved the walk to this spot. There were orange and brown butterflies flitting around us as we walked. An injured Miner bird flapped through the grass. Most probably destined to be someones dinner later today.

Mis read the hint so were not sure where we should be looking but geocacher common sense prevailed and the short one soon spotted the container. Just took her eye off it for a second and it took us another minute to relocate it. Container and contents were in good condition and the coordinates were spot on.

Thanks for this cache Whitewebbs and thanks for showing us this lovely peaceful spot in your little piece of Paradise.

this is the first chance I have had to get out the house and come down this way to search for this great new series
I was pleased to find we were FTF
