Description

Hidden as Part of the GeoArt games.

This Series will take you on along the road from the Mt Gnomon carpark towards Mt Duncan on Ironcliffe road, some of this road is accessable by a 2wd but there are other parts that will require some ground clearance,

A 4x4 will make all these caches a driveby, but it would also be a pleasant walk from the Mt Gnomon carpark.

All caches are no more than 3m from the track in this series and have a pen or pencil, a logbook and a stash note.

GPS Quality maybe inconsistent in this area. Take note of the Hint to aid in your search.

RHS and LHS are referenced when walking from Gnomon to Duncan

Geocaching long weekend, we moved our van/house/base to Pioneer Park and set out to pick up the geoart in the area.
We decided to be ambitious and see how far up the road we could go in our little Rio given the description, one ticked.

Bored this morning so I took a drive up to to the Dial Range to do a spot of fishing. Easy find with the hint. Onward to the next fishing spot. TFTC Clan Cerberus

Yesterday we tackled the Lightning Geo Art trail and did most of the Fairway Fun one too.
Today we headed off to Penguin to tackle this series.
This was the first one and was quickly found.
Did forget to bring the Wet Ones though, so had very dirty hands right from the start as a lot of the containers were laying in damp leaf mulch.
A very bright yellow worm was the cache guardian here - fortunately he didn't give much of a fight to give up his treasure. Well in reality he didn't put up a fight at all!!
Thanks.

Hi dez055
An early morning start, meeting up with the Blue Flier at 0630 hours for a Sundey trip to the NW Coast
Crossed the middle of Tasmania, collecting GAs and Gcs on the way
The objectives for the day were "Sailboat Geoart", "F Fairway GeoArt" and the "Lighting Bolt GeoArt" series
This cache was found and Sainted at 1048 hours with Budge
Found this road and scenery very interesting, especially when the motor bikes went past
The ferns were great
Thanks for placing the cache for our enjoyment
Cheers OldSaint

Another Sunday trip to the Northwest coast to grab GCA caches with Oldsaint. Certainly, a day that I kept Oldsaint moving the whole day as he collected 50 GCA caches during the day. Personally, I think I found slightly more, including a couple of puzzles that I had solved but not collected.

The trip started at a leisurely 6.30 am and while going over the highland route we started our first of three major GCA trails at 10.30. The trip over the highlands was worth the detour, with a First to find at the "Bridge over Ouse" and a WhereIgo that I had solved for the central highlands a long time ago. The three main runs we took on today, were the "Challenging" Sailboat Geoart, the "tricky" F Fairway and the "very clever" Lighting bolt caches. I have to say that the lighting bolt caches had a cache design I had never seen before, so was an absolute highlight.

Thank you for placing these caches for our enjoyment

In the area on a caching trip so I decided to make a start on this series. Accurate co-ordinates led to a quick find. I look forward to completing the trail on a future date. Very Happy

Caching today with whitewebbs and this geoart series was on our to do list.

Enjoyed the journey along Ironcliffe Rd, a beautiful location to explore.

Excellent hints made for quick finds.

Many thanks dez055 for a great geoart series, a must do if in the area.

Out and about caching in the area with Tassie Trekkers and stopped to locate this cool geoart. Thanks for creating the fish and setting up the hides. The extensive hints were appreciated and made for quick finds. TFTGA

Whilst Mrs y'stassie went to look for caches on The Gnomen and on Mt Dial, the other half of the team went to look for the caches in the GeoArt Fish series. He was prepared to walk from The Gnomen car park but, although the track was rough, he was able to wend the low clearance AWD up to the Mt Duncan car park and back. The track is narrow but there are regular spots, many near cache hides, where there is parking and passing area.

In all instances the hints were of great assistance - the majority of the coordinates were accurate although there were few instances where our GPS was 11m away from the published coordinates when the cache was in hand. However, with the overhead tree cover the GPS was often slow to settle. In all instances the good sized caches were well hidden and in good condition.

Thanks DEZ005 for a very enjoyable GeoArt series.

Hi Dez055....in the early hrs saw these caches had been published...will I wait for daylight or go now.
Nah....lets go now...so headed out the door just after 4am and was logging this cache at 4:40 am.
A blank log so a welcomed ftf.
Quite a bit different caching in complete darkness and in forested terrain.
A powerful torch helps of course.
Many thanks for placing this series...thoroughly enjoyed...cheers ST.
