After a morning at RTBG, we widened our caching scope to the Domain collecting both GA's and GC's. After realising we neded partial co-ords from various hides we ventured forth. Found our various targets, but unfortunately this one of the 2000's series does not seem to be present any more. Read many logs, and spent considerable time grovelling around GZ to no avail ! This one presents problems, as we can't collect the partial co-ords for the final. Bugger ! Thanks for your work budgietas. Clan MinotaurSmile P.S. got fined for parking on the wrong side of the road near the final. Bugger ! ! Clan MinotaurSad

We had found the 10,000th GCA cache not long after it was published in NSW and wanted to find the 20,000 as soon as possible after it's publication. The first opportunity arrived five months after publication when we looked for and found Series 1 and Series 2. However despite an extensive search, we did not locate the cache and had to log a DNF. Without the data from this cache we could not attempt the final cache, namely the 20,000th. This cache was replaced shortly after our DNF but other commitments meant that we did not have the opportunity during subsequent visits to Hobart to look for this cache. When we preparing for this trip, we saw that the last log on this cache as a DNF although it has been found just a month previously. Whilst not optimistic, we looked for this cache was we made our way around the walking track this afternoon. To our delight, the cache was quickly found - a straightforward hide. The cache and contents were in good condition and we had the final piece of information need to find the 20,000the GCA cache. Thanks BudgieTas for the cache.

Another quick find but this place was sure teeming with muggles on this beautiful late Autumn day.
After this one we worked out where the final was likely to be but instead of turning around we decided to complete the loop first.
Thanks, it's a long time since we've been up here and I'm pretty sure this track wasn't here before. Mr Beetle thought it may have originally been part of the road to the top?

Quick find in between the muggles.

I had no idea where it was, but little Lewis yelled out "I found it daddy" and to my surprise he did. well done buddy

Last one of the serries to collect info from and although I found it quickly, I grabbed it and took off up the hill - lots of muggles came past as I waited for a break in the traffic. I counted 11 kangaroos in the paddock before they all took off into the bush.
Eventually got the cache back to its hide.
TNLN, thanks for the cache Budgie!

Cache Replaced

Looks as if maintenance may be required on this one. As part of a special Geocaching Australia cache and to help other cachers find the ultimate cache, if maintenance can't be undertaken for a period of time, a note within the description of the cache with the required information to assist cachers in finding the main cache, may help. Once any maintenance has been undertaken, the note could be removed.

No luck for me either. I tried to look in likely places for the final on the way back to car but too many options and too little time. Will come back when the third one is in play again

When we arrived at GZ we found a burnt log in an area that had been burned a little while ago. We made a search using our walking poles but could not find the cache - not even some melted plastic. This was disappointing as, without the letters we could not continue.

We hope the CO is able to check this hide soon so that the 20000th cache is able to be found. We had insufficient time to do a random search for the final cache but will be back when this cache is back in play.

did the first in the series and continued to do the 3rd in the series only to find a patch of burnt trees and earth, told the CO with no reply so do not know anymore yet. the puzzle is missing the third piece, so can not be worked out.

Back in Hobart and this series was on our to do list.

Enjoyed the walk and the challenge of solving the puzzle.

Many thanks Budgietas for creating this series and congratulations on being awarded the 20000th cache.

Congratulations on being awarded the 20000 cache hide. We were heading out today for lunch to celebrate our 41st Wedding Anniversary and decided to find a few newly published caches. We enjoyed the series and soon had the words solved to find the multi. Very cleverly done. TFTC

Again an easy find but no luck trying to figure out the word.

It was a longer walk to the GZ of Series 3. It was hot and I expected the kids to grumble but they seemed just as enthused as the rat and I. They were also very helpful at solving the clues. Having noted all the clues down, now to work out the final. We knew what to do, we even did it twice to check using a different tool the second time. They matched!
{*FTF*} with stainless steel rat.
Thanks Budgietas

A bit of impromptu caching on a Sunday. But how could I turn down the chance of FTF on GA20000!
I didn't see the notifications for these until about 40 minutes after they came out, but after a quick look and seeing they hadn't been found yet I messaged Goose to see if he was on his way to find them already. Discovering that he was still at home I offered to pick him and his girls up as I was passing and we could all try for a FTF on this iconic geocache.
At GZ with the help from the gosling's the cache was found and their help with the puzzle was much appreciated, after the needed information was collected we signed the log and moved on to the next one.

Thanks for the cache.
