Description
Sunflower Sea Star
(Pycnopodia helianthoides)
The largest of the sea stars, at lengths over a metre, the Sunflower Sea Star lives on the sand and rocks of the deeper tidal waters from Alaska to Southern California.
Adults have 16-24 sucker-covered arms they can detach and regenerate when attacked. They are a voracious predator travelling up to 100cm per minute, capturing even large prey by disconnecting their skeleton to open their mouth wide.
This is a mirco movable that is magetic. It's purpose is to roam around getting pictures. There is no log on pictures to accompany you log. Cache is about the size of a 20 cent piece.

Found this one after catching up with a local cacher, this was one of a few in the bag. TFTC
After a lovely catch up over coffee with another local team we exchanged bags of moveable caches and then went our own ways. We'll get these ones out in time for the upcoming game. TFTC
After sitting out the cold snap in the garage this moveable was ready to check out the sunny NW with a group of fellow travellers.
Purely a GA day today, and this is one of several moveables "apparently" in place and within easy striking distance of others nearby.
Alas ! this was one of three moveables which we DNF. We spent considerable time at each location searching. As we are not experienced in playing with moveables, we are wondering what the protocols are for finding, logging and moving. Anyway this is a DNF for us.
