Description
This cache is located at the Springfield Picnic Ground
Located at the old (and largely forgotten) Springfield Picnic Ground.
It replaces a cache we had here (listed on the other site) that has since been muggled.
Like a lot of recreational locations previously set up and maintained by the now defunct Forestry Tasmania this location is a little forlorn and unloved, but still definitely worth a visit.
Signage is still in place so easy to locate, there is a large open grassed area and a forest walk from the rear of the picnic area.
At time of placement, cache contained a lot of swag - please replace any items taken with something for the next finder!
Cache is located in the parking area and would be an easy drive-by if preferred.

While up North chasing GCA caches for the Battleship games we stopped to find this cache. The GPSr was all over the place and there were plenty of spots that fitted the hint. Finally located and signed. Thanks for showing us this spot as have never been here before. TFTC

Hi Hilberts
An early start to the day; started with a slow drive over icey Huon Highway
Met up with Budge and then onto Launceston
Trying to earn shots for the Battleships Game was the main objective for the day
4 GC caches were found along with 16 GCA caches
In so doing, I expended 1450 calories while taking 4837 steps to cover a distance of 3.9km on foot
We enjoyed completing this series, as we had done some of them before
This one was Sainted at 1215 hours
Thanks to Budge for a great day
Thanks for a most enjoyable cache
Cheers OldSaint

A Trip with Oldsaint was on the cards for today, and the target was GCA caches for shots on the battleship board. A second objective was to get Oldsaint to the next dragonzone level, which happened early in the day. Thank you for the caches to that helped make the day a success.
Great location. A hidden gem that should be better visited!
There was a fire from the previous night still smoldering

Heading home after a camping trip to the East Coast we detoured and found your cache. A spot we had visited before but nice to return.
Many thanks Hilberts for the cache.

Going to the north-east of the state was on our agenda for today. So we were very pleased when this and another cache were published early this morning. The driving conditions were not good with low cloud and mist being interrupted by short periods of heavy rain. After finding the first cache, we headed off to this one. Thankfully the road was sealed all but for about 2km. The Picnic Grounds were familiar as we had come here to find the GC version of the cache a few years ago. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. As the logbook was blank, we will claim {FTF} at 13:15. Thanks Hilberts for the cache.
I noticed that this one was published this morning and got a call out at 10 this morning so it was off to legerwood, as this one was a detour from my path I chose to come and grab it on the way back to the north west. Hoping I was still able to grab the first to find I opened the logbook to find I’d been beaten by 1.5 hours. Never been to this place before so was good to explore somewhere I never knew about.
