Description

Our Geo Art, Fairway Fun, is designed to highlight some of the activities now available to locals and visitors. This is the second of 12 Geo Art caches forming an F

Fairway Park began life as a 9hole golf course and became redundant with the opening of the 18hole Allison golf course along Lobster Creek. Since then, the area has become a multiuse park for all with BBQs, play and exercise equipment, paths for walkers, joggers and bike riders, a sound shell for outdoor musical performances, a dog friendly cafe, grassed areas for play and dog walking, a Water Slide, Skate park, Pump Track and the Surf Club. Close by you will find the Yacht, Football and Bowls clubs as well as the break water, a popular fishing spot, an off-leash dog exercise beach, the caravan park and Shropshire Park home of the Naval Memorial, a place for quiet reflection and remembrance. The nearby beach has safe swimming in front of the Surf Club and plenty of beach for beach combing and sand play.  The beach is regularly patrolled.

Take a quiet stroll through the park beside the river to retrieve this bison tube.

Looking for a short caching trail today, and as we have some solved puzzles and other prospects around Ulvie, this is the destination. We won't be wasting too much time on some of these, as most have not been logged for two or three years. The first three we abandoned quite quickly, but we struck paydirt here. Thank you 2y'stassies for creating this geoart trail some time ago. Clan MinotaurDancing

Wasn't sure whether to approach this one from the park or the river side. Came from the river side but as it turned out it didn't matter as GZ was accessible from both.
Noticed the ratchet tie first with this one. Thanks.

Another Sunday trip to the Northwest coast to grab GCA caches with Oldsaint. Certainly, a day that I kept Oldsaint moving the whole day as he collected 50 GCA caches during the day. Personally, I think I found slightly more, including a couple of puzzles that I had solved but not collected.

The trip started at a leisurely 6.30 am and while going over the highland route we started our first of three major GCA trails at 10.30. The trip over the highlands was worth the detour, with a First to find at the "Bridge over Ouse" and a WhereIgo that I had solved for the central highlands a long time ago. The three main runs we took on today, were the "Challenging" Sailboat Geoart, the "tricky" F Fairway and the "very clever" Lighting bolt caches. I have to say that the lighting bolt caches had a cache design I had never seen before, so was an absolute highlight.

Thank you for placing these caches for our enjoyment

Finally got a chance to complete this series today. There were a few tricky finds mixed with easy ones. This is the first time that I have ever walked the beach in this area. I have walked the paths many times though. Thanks 2y's for this series and for the geoart.

Found this whilst out and about with Trimbletas in search of GCA caches to get us on the board for the blitz games.
Finally came back to find the couple that i didnt find previously and to find the rest of the series.
After a few minutes i spotted the cache and wondered how i didnt see it last time i was here. TFTC

Caching in the area with whitewebbs and this geoart series was on our to do list.

Many thanks 2y'stassies for creating this geoart and adding to our caching experience today.

Some were more of a challenge to find than others but we managed to find them eventually.

Very nice day to wander the area, no wind and the sea was calm.

Out and about caching with Tassie Trekkers around Ulverstone and Turners beach area and this was one that was found. An absolutely glorious day to be out caching. Boy this took a while to find. Coords fitted the whole area which was covered in creeper but found it eventually. TFTGA

Tonight we had some time up our sleeves so we thought we would make a start on the new GeoArt Series. We managed to find a couple but also couldn’t find a couple but we will be back to reattempt those and finish the series.

We searched here for a good 45 minutes but even with searching every part of the creeper that the gps was saying was 0 we could not locate this cache.
Will have to come back another day and reattempt this one.

FTF.... this was not easy to spot and I almost gave up after walking around in circles for ages. Finally on the last sweep, I spotted it.
