Description

Our Geo Art, Fairway Fun, is designed to highlight some of the activities now available to locals and visitors. This is the tenth of 12 Geo Art caches forming an F

Fairway Park began life as a 9hole golf course and became redundant with the opening of the 18hole Allison golf course along Lobster Creek. Since then, the area has become a multiuse park for all with BBQs, play and exercise equipment, paths for walkers, joggers and bike riders, a sound shell for outdoor musical performances, a dog friendly cafe, grassed areas for play and dog walking, a Water Slide, Skate park, Pump Track and the Surf Club. Close by you will find the Yacht, Football and Bowls clubs as well as the break water, a popular fishing spot, an off-leash dog exercise beach, the caravan park and Shropshire Park home of the Naval Memorial, a place for quiet reflection and remembrance. The nearby beach has safe swimming in front of the Surf Club and plenty of beach for beach combing and sand play.  The beach is regularly patrolled.

Take a quiet stroll along the beach to retrieve this 200ml sistema

There is plenty of safe parking in this area..

One of the closest caches to where we were staying, due to time constraints we allowed about 5 minutes to search for each cache and we were unfortunately unable to locate this one. There was so much sand build up it was hard to look.

Out and about after attending a CITO Event and enjoying a walk along the beach on an almost perfect day for caching this was found. Now for the walk back. Very Happy

Plenty of birds to watch here today - the seagulls were all in the creek and the plovers on the sand nearby. Plus there was one mollyhawk sitting with the plovers.
This is not an area I have been to for many years - don't have the fondest memories of Buttons Creek after cutting my foot badly on a piece of glass in the creek when I was only a little tacker! Definitely would never have considered bringing my own children here.
Had this part of the beach all to myself today, seems a few spots of rain kept the muggles away.
Thanks, another quick find was made here.

Another Sunday trip to the Northwest coast to grab GCA caches with Oldsaint. Certainly, a day that I kept Oldsaint moving the whole day as he collected 50 GCA caches during the day. Personally, I think I found slightly more, including a couple of puzzles that I had solved but not collected.

The trip started at a leisurely 6.30 am and while going over the highland route we started our first of three major GCA trails at 10.30. The trip over the highlands was worth the detour, with a First to find at the "Bridge over Ouse" and a WhereIgo that I had solved for the central highlands a long time ago. The three main runs we took on today, were the "Challenging" Sailboat Geoart, the "tricky" F Fairway and the "very clever" Lighting bolt caches. I have to say that the lighting bolt caches had a cache design I had never seen before, so was an absolute highlight.

Thank you for placing these caches for our enjoyment

Finally got a chance to complete this series today. There were a few tricky finds mixed with easy ones. This is the first time that I have ever walked the beach in this area. I have walked the paths many times though. Thanks 2y's for this series and for the geoart.

Quick find for this one. After a couple of people appeared from the walkway near the creek. Gotta love those funny looks?! Laughing TFTC Clan Cerberus

Found this whilst out and about with Trimbletas in search of GCA caches to get us on the board for the blitz games.
Finally came back to find the couple that i didnt find previously and to find the rest of the series.
Intially found a likely spot along the log where a cache could have been hidden but there was no cache moved along the log further to find a well hidden cache. TFTC

Out and about caching with Tassie Trekkers around Ulverstone and Turners beach area and this was one that was found. An absolutely glorious day to be out caching. Lots of logs nearby so it depends on which way you face as to front log. A bit wary placing hand in there but came out with a cache. TFTGA

Caching in the area with whitewebbs and this geoart series was on our to do list.

Many thanks 2y'stassies for creating this geoart and adding to our caching experience today.

Some were more of a challenge to find than others but we managed to find them eventually.

Very nice day to wander the area, no wind and the sea was calm.

A lovely place to sit and watch the sea, birds and people walking along the beach. I might sit here awhile and take it all in TFTC 2y’stassies
