Description

With the Perseverance rover's successul landing on Mars on 18th February 2021, this geoart is themed to celebrate space exploration.

The geoart navigating pin points to the Uralla Satellite Tracking Station. Relocated from Guam, this is a critical component of a global network of earth station facilities used to control satellites through launch and transfer orbit to the satellites intended locations.

The Uralla facility is also essential in providing communications during a satellite's initial in-orbit testing.

The Perseverance Rover's parachute on its descent to Mars (with code)

Unfortunately it's impossible to locate the geoart any closer to the Tracking Station as the closer you get the less you see.

Congratulations LuckyL10n & Sol de lune - FTF

Last day in Armidale so we decided to do the geoart series (never nod a geoart cache before today) as we ran out of daylight when in the area yesterday. An easy quick find for Mrs Shifter. Thanks geono.

things to do on A Sunday afternoon...

I wasn't intending on travelling this way this week but here I am. this geoart trail was the only reason I ended up down here. haha.

I have just downy the last couple of days wandering through waterfall country. so amazing! here the water was still falling but not down gorges like Wollomombi.

Thanks for this geoart trail. unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, my food has just arrived so I'm going to copy and paste my found logs which include a couple of FTFs I believe.

thanks. Smile

#GA5193 - 12:31; Day 11 of a road trip with Sol de lune for the CacheQLD - Dayboro Mega and we are now headed for home. After spending the night in Glen Innes, we headed south caching our way through Ben Lomond, Guyra and Armidale. After leaving Armidale, we headed for Uralla keen to collect this new series along a couple of the side roads. Great to collect this one and a bonus *FTF* as well at our first stop. TFTC geono. Heading home from the mega with LuckyL10n and our plan was always to grab this series the way through. Arrived in the area around lunchtime and set along the road. This was our first stop and once at GZ the cache was quickly found and the log signed. Nothing like a good GCA series to keep us going.

Thanks for the this first one geono....even though we are going about them backwards. Very HappyVery Happy
