Description

Can you find where the falcon has landed?

This geocache will take you to the Falcon Falls in the Cocparra National Park. The cache is not at the given waypoint or placed within the NP, however it is nearby. You will have to find the following information to find where the Falcon Falls cache is nestled. The Falcon Falls walk is only 1.5km long, 3km return and is grade 3 by National Park standards. You can go further and climb up to the top of the falls and explore up there like I did, which is a T3.5-4 rock scramble depending on which direction you choose to go up, however you do not need to go up there for this cache.

There is a picnic area, BBQ, and toilet at the beginning of the track, so why not pack some snacks or snags to take with you. Please note, when I visit here in early March 2021 the picnic area was not wheelchair friendly. Hopefully this has changed when you visit.

Parking and information sign.
At the information board there is a map. At the top right is a legend for fascilities and other items on the map. Find where you are on the map - theres a big black square with the words 'YOU ARE HERE' marking it. Beside this big square are two slightly smaller ones. Note the fascility directly to the right of 'YOU ARE HERE'? Now using the legend list, where the one at the top =1, the next down =2, and so on, what number is the fascility I have asked you to note. Let this number = C

WP2: S34 10.591 E146 16.795
Bridge.
The bridge is built using a number of straight sections. To create it's curve they have placed the stright sections at different angles. How many straight sections were used to build this bridge? Let this number = D
How many upright posts are there on the handrail of this bridge? Let this number = F

WP3: S34 10.563 E146 16.707
Information sign at base of falls.
On this sign, describing the white colouration on the rocks are three words in "inverted commas". how many times is the letter A found in these 3 words? Let this number = A
The sign also informs us that "The ______ is the colour of the rock itself". Hiow many letters are in the missing word? Let this number = B

Final Coordinates for this cache is at:

I hope you had fun exploring the Falcon Falls area.
I'd love to see the falls with water falling over them - if you happen to visit at such a time, please add a photo or ten.

This is weird. The GA App & GSAK (just downloaded the GPX) have the questions needed to solve the equation but the questions don't appear to be on the website. It could be trickery by that (liar) lyrebird or just me.

Fun fact: Peregrine falcons are the fastest-flying birds in the world – they are able to dive at over 321 kilometres per hour. Their name comes from the Latin word peregrinus, which means “to wander”.
