Description
A nice spot to stop for a quick break or stretch of the legs, and with a 4wd you can get right to the water's edge.
We visited this location by chance whilst in the area after noticing vehicle tracks heading down to the river. It's a beautiful location & there are plenty of trout in the river here too.

A day trip up to the Lakes to find (and refind) some caches, a great day out, some easy and some harder finds.
Straight after parkrun this morning i meet gooseandegg at our normal coffee shop and after a few minutes chat the goose loaded his gear in the 4WD and we were off heading North for the day.
We almost made it to our furthest target cache without stopping but called for some GCA caches along the way, after grabbing some stunning views from a new budgie cache we headed to the last one and started on our drive back after a short detour.
The cache of the day was a out of the blue surprise showing me a location i had no idea of and a feature i didn't know existed in Tasmania or Australia.
It was dark and 9:40 before I got home, almost 11 hours and 460km made for a good caching trip.

After logging the fairly new GC cache over the river, SSR and I came for this one. It was to be our last cache before heading home through Interlaken (and caching on the way). We'd both had a lot of trouble with out phones today, SSR's had him on the other side of the road here (mine was more of a battery problem. As always, we overcame our problems and soon found the well tucked away cache.

Exploring the area whilst on holiday and took a quick detour for this one. Surprising how much traffic there is. tftc
We were in the area today to get coordinates for a virtual cache we want to do and decided to make short detour to find this cache. An easy find with the aid of accurate coordinates and the hint. A dreary day up here today but it meant we had the place very much to ourselves. Thanks for the cache
We had decided to head to Victoria Valley today in search of S_38 & Lekker Ding's multi. As we would pass reasonably close to this cache - a 5km round trip detour this cache became first on our list.
It was early morning and the area was deserted. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of a well hidden cache container. Although the box was dirty the contents were clean and dry.
Thanks for this cache Hancock Clan. We enjoyed stretching our legs and admiring this very pretty spot. We have driven by many times in the past and not stopped. This could now become our Highland picnic spot.

During the week Trimbletas and i made the decision that we would target some of the caches around the New Norfolk and Geilston Bay area. we planned to go up over the Highland lakes to Hamilton, then down to New Norfolk then over to Geilston Bay. Up bright and early we left the NorthWest at 6.00am as we approached the top of lakes highway we were greeted with around 4 inches of snow on the road, so it was into 4x4 and steadily along until we dropped down onto lake level. we detoured to grab the Bridge over Ouse cache then it was off to Hamilton.
We did a maintenance check of my caches along the way and they were all in great order still.
Arriving in Hamilton we snapped a photo of the trig then headed for New Norfolk where we took a short walk to the trig there, it was then onto the Battleship GeoArt series.
while completing the Battleship caches we were stopped by 4 different property owners concerned with what we were doing. we explained to them what were doing but they still seemed concerned. there was a few caches where we couldnt get off the road and cars came up behind us while we were signing the logs, so we had to try and move the ute out of the way.
After completing the battleship series we made our way through Molesworth and into Berridale where we crossed the Derwent River and headed for Natone Hill.
We got the information for WPT 1 of the Multi and set off in a clockwise direction of the reserve to complete the Smile and Blockage GeoArts, we got as far round as the trigpoint when it started to pour down with rain we got drenched as we bunkered under a tree to wait out the rain, as the rain eased we grabbed the photo of the trig then off to complete the rest of the caches. we got the rest of the info required for the Multi cache but as it was back where we came from we decide to leave it for next time. We really enjoyed completing the Blockage and Smile Geoarts. Thank you SSR and Goose&Egg.
After getting back to the ute and trying to dry out we decide to go check out where the Circle Geoart starts, once there we decided that we would comlplete it next time as it was getting dark.
A quick drive around to Government hill where we walked up to grab the trigs where we were ment by another concerned owner, explained we were there to get a photo of the trig and he was happy to see us on our way.
We then headed for food at Bridgewater before our long journey home.
we stopped to complete several caches along the way and arrived home at 9.30pm. A great day was had with nearly 100 caches attempted for the day. TFTC

Headed out for a 400 km circuit to get one missile for the battleship games and was lucky to score 15 FTFs at Interlaken along the way. A lovely day for a drive. A quick find with the aid of the hint. TFTC

Another Sunday trip to the Northwest coast to grab GCA caches with Oldsaint. Certainly, a day that I kept Oldsaint moving the whole day as he collected 50 GCA caches during the day. Personally, I think I found slightly more, including a couple of puzzles that I had solved but not collected.
The trip started at a leisurely 6.30 am and while going over the highland route we started our first of three major GCA trails at 10.30. The trip over the highlands was worth the detour, with a First to find at the "Bridge over Ouse" and a WhereIgo that I had solved for the central highlands a long time ago. The three main runs we took on today, were the "Challenging" Sailboat Geoart, the "tricky" F Fairway and the "very clever" Lighting bolt caches. I have to say that the lighting bolt caches had a cache design I had never seen before, so was an absolute highlight.
Thank you for placing these caches for our enjoyment
*FTF* with Oldsaint on this cache. Funny enough Oldsaint had told me this cache was an hour out of our way, but only turned out to be 10 minutes and worth it for the FTF
