Description
Autumn Equinox 0° Event
2021 Autumnal Equinox | March Equinox
An Equinox is an astronomical event that happens twice each year, once in spring and once in autumn, each year when the tilt of the Earth's axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun.
During Equinoxes the tilt of the Earth (with respect to the Sun) is 0° and because of its duration of the day and the night are almost equal on Equinox day i.e. 12 hours.
Equinoxes occur on 20th or 21st March and 22nd or 23rd September each year and both days have equal length of the day and the night.
During March it is autumn in the Southern hemisphere and March Equinox is called Autumnal Equinox.
This year Autumnal Equinox is on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 08:36 PM AEDT
To avoid any confusion Equinoxes are preferably referred to as March Equinox and September Equinox.
This event is open to everyone, even if you are in the Northern Hemisphere.
Simply add a photo of fallen autumn leaves or fresh spring growth to your log.

And thanks for inviting us to your Equinox event.
As we travelled via Mt Evelyn, Cockatoo, Cardinia, Lysterfield and Whittlesea today we noticed lots of trees starting to show a bit of colour but not real bright yet.
Hope this photo suffices.
It has been a most enjoyable day.
So I have resorted to looking through some of my old photos, and found an Autumn leaf I took years ago. It was floating in Wentworth Falls Lake.
Thanks for the Autumn Equinox Event.
More like a Winter's day with the rain and cold temperature.
